He better own it - won’t be happy if he throws up excuses about travel problems or the raps hit or refs. We were ugly in the second full stop! He needs to tell it straight and owns it!

Re: 2019 Rd 15 V Eels: Game Day
Seems to me everyone got too excited about being second and kindof forgot about beating the Parramatta Eels
Re: 2019 Rd 15 V Eels: Game Day
In hindsight we were due for a performance like that. We got out of jail against the Sharks and had a similar sort of attitude tonight. When we got behind CNK seemed to be the only player to lift and attempt to drag the side to a win.

Same thing earlier in the year when there was talk about us going into first place. The attitude wasn't right then (against Roosters was it?) and tonight. The Rickman wrote:Seems to me everyone got too excited about being second and kindof forgot about beating the Parramatta Eels

I’d agree - also too much focus on point scoring and try scoring records for my liking. You’d like to think the team doesn’t buy into any of it but agree they didn’t look like a team focused on finishing this game. The Rickman wrote: ↑June 29, 2019, 10:12 pm Seems to me everyone got too excited about being second and kindof forgot about beating the Parramatta Eels

Re: 2019 Rd 15 V Eels: Game Day
Stuart - "That was our worst 50 minutes of footy in years". It wasn't fun to watch.... At least Stuart "Knows what it is and will work on it with the boys". He "Knows how and why, and it comes down to some individuals".
To be fair, Stuart was pretty pissed... Called it crap a few times. Glad he was watching the same game at least some of us on here were.
Also of note - He did the presser solo.... No captain with him... Interesting...

Hodgson was very good tonight and i bet if he doesnt have that error right at the death, this **** isnt mentioned.
**** dumb ****.

Jacks output over the last month (at the least) puts a massive proportion of Australians to shame, but he makes a couple of errors tonight (while still pulling off some gold) and he needs punting?Lucky wrote:News just in. Wighton dropped for Origin. Latrell Mitchell to be his replacement.
Love to see how some of the critics in here come up on their Personal Performance Reviews (or whatever they’re called these days)

I don’t know why but I want to see us persist with Hors. I saw his errors and didn’t miss his lead feet in defence. I also don’t think he did much at all tonight but I think he’ll come good. Won’t cry if he’s punted but hopefully not for too long

I certainly think he is in the upper echolen of hookers in the game - but the way he is spoken about in the media (and here) he isn’t anywhere near producing the output that we consistently hear/read aboutBilly Walker wrote: ↑June 29, 2019, 10:03 pmCan’t get onboard with this - I thought he was solid tonight first game back from a fair layoffscotchberry wrote: ↑June 29, 2019, 10:01 pmTotally agree with this.

Re: 2019 Rd 15 V Eels: Game Day
I have been a long time reader of this forum and this is my first time posting. I had to wait a while to calm down before I could evaluate the game objectively and not lose my mind in a blaze of post-match frustration like some of the contributors here.
For me, that game had all the key ingredients that make it a bigger-than-usual disappointment:
- blowing the chance to move to second on the ladder (if only for the week)
- a loss heading into a bye round (which always feels like a huge, wasted opportunity)
- ending a three game winning streak and killing that momentum (that really should have grown to an 8-game streak considering our next four games are against teams outside of the top 8)
- relinquishing a big lead and losing to a (relatively) average team that we have beaten comfortably before
To make matters worse, the Eels were a long way short of the 'terrific' performance the Fox commentary team are touting. Their first try was off the back of some awful cue-in-the-rack defence by the Hors and their second try had Ferguson fortuitously saved by his own player underneath his body keeping him from going out (and it was off the back of the missed Gutherson lost ball). Croker then gifts an intercept for their third try which really should have led to us scoring in the corner. At 18-16, the hardest the Eels had to work was nailing the goals - we had gifted them everything else.

I don’t miss Croker sitting there looking like some of the older kids have beaten him up for his lunch money

We lost by 6 points, are still top 4. Yep we sucked tonight but hey 1 bad game here, we lose by only 6 and don't damage our for/against
Much prefer that then stuff the finals

It’s a big advantage having teams travel to Canberra and play in cold conditions they find more uncomfortable than we do. In retrospect Darwin is always going to be a tough gig for us. Tonight’s conditions wouldn’t have been a million miles from the Parra pre-season. That kind of showed when we died after 30 and they stayed in the grind.

I do get frustrated with Ricky’s press conferences. They way he says that he knows what the issue is and then doesn’t elaborate makes me think he doesn’t know. If it comes down to personal effort in the 10 minutes before half time, who is he specifically referring to? I am think Sezer and Hors for that soft try.

A few random points from the stands
- It was clear with 30 mins to go that Raiders were gassed, I thought they were going to lose by more from then, letting in those tries before half time were important
- CNK had a blinder
- TIO Stadium is EDIT way too far from the action, found myself looking at the big screen often.
- 5000 crowd is **** disappointing
- Much more green in the crowd than last time Raiders played here

Would have won Boogs - 2016, 2017, 2018

I’m with you Cat. If you turned off after 30 mins and didn’t hear the result you’d be running to back us for the premiership!cat wrote: ↑June 29, 2019, 10:32 pm We lost by 6 points, are still top 4. Yep we sucked tonight but hey 1 bad game here, we lose by only 6 and don't damage our for/against

Gee our passing was woeful tonight and we got in each other’s way a lot.
Only Papa, Lui and Sutton ran straight. Too much sideways movement from our forwards in the second half.
We went left way too much.
Also, I would rather Oldfield’s strong hit ups and quick play the balls.

Re: 2019 Rd 15 V Eels: Game Day
He’s usually bagged for overplaying his hand, I thought he got it right tonight. Gave the halves good early ball, forced a repeat set or two, defended well and led the go forward in that first 30. For a guy coming off a 5 week layoff playing in hot humid conditions he was more than solid.scotchberry wrote: ↑June 29, 2019, 10:33 pmHe was non existent for the messiah wraps that he constantly getsPigRickman wrote: ↑June 29, 2019, 10:16 pmCant not not only get on board with this, but it's actually stupid.Billy Walker wrote: ↑June 29, 2019, 10:03 pmCan’t get onboard with this - I thought he was solid tonight first game back from a fair layoffscotchberry wrote: ↑June 29, 2019, 10:01 pmTotally agree with this.

Yep - Raps took some hard carries out of defence but we miss BJ there and agree that Oldfield offers more in that area than Kris. Guessing Cotric will be back next game. Would love to see him pick up his tough carries out of our 20.BJ wrote: ↑June 29, 2019, 10:40 pm Gee our passing was woeful tonight and we got in each other’s way a lot.

I think your opinion is trash. Simple. Nothing soft or hard. Just a trash take. We all have them. This is yours

Why so personal? I don’t agree with every opinion on here and I sure don’t expect everyone to agree with mine but I’ll never take any of it personally. Why name call, trash options or personalise?
