Re: 2019 Rd 14 V Sharks: Game Day
I hate this grubby, offside standing, drug using, salary cap cheating stain of a team. Sniffys like Dugan and Fifita with their bad hairstyles and blue skin......
I hope we win. Hard to see, but I really hope we win.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Top of the comp in offloads, the Sharks. That second phase is kryptonite to strong defensive lines.
From all accounts Fatfita has dropped a couple of kilos - should mean it's easier to wrap him up. Please do so Raiders.

Big game and huge pressure on Sezer tonight.
His kicking game needs to improve drastically from last week if we're to be a chance.

His kicking game last week was unreliable. It needs to improve. No question we beat up Milhouse last week.afgtnk wrote:Big game and huge pressure on Sezer tonight.

The sharks are a much better team. A Kearney at least.

This'll be won through the middle. If they beat us there they'll kill us on the shift out wide. Need to target Blayke Brailey back on an angle with numbers. We will get offload opportunities and quick play the balls around him as the game goes on.
Feki should have a big target on him for the high ball.

Reading some of the other threads on here some seem to suggest Crokes has a mortgage on the captaincy for at least the next 20 years, so the timing for your unborn to be the next Raiders captain might be about right.GreenGirl wrote: ↑June 13, 2019, 4:59 pmI probably will need to! Probably best you be responsible and only have a couple of magharitas each half tonight

Shutting down the offloads and controlling the ruck is the key for us here.

Heart says Raiders, head says Sharks.
In saying that, I had a look over on the Sharks forum, and it was if we were the Bulldogs or something they are that confident.
The prevailing sentiment seems to be they have us beaten everywhere except for the wings.
While they may edge us on talent on paper? I think they may be severely underrating some of the class we have.

Re: 2019 Rd 14 V Sharks: Game Day
Johnson is surely bound to play. He's the one bloke that has caused us more grief than Benji Marshall over the years.
If so, that's the big worry for me. Thankfully with Sezer and Wighton in the halves, our edges are fall less susceptible to becoming a disjointed defensive line.
This could be a really dour game and if we win, it will likely be quite ugly. Johnson and Graham provide that x-factor, on top of their offloads. If we can handle that, I hope our kicking game is good enough to generate enough points to get over the line.

Love the look of our pack tonight (the running forwards, obviously Hodgson out sucks). I can see Starling playing more minutes tonight and getting us on the front foot against tiring forwards. Big watch on Graham when he comes on, he is a star. Bateman can handle him. As mentioned above we really need to stop their second phase play.

The morons on Channel 9 mixing up the overnight minimum (1C) with the ACTUAL current temperature (9C) and claiming it's cold. Groan.

This should be a cracker! I get the sense we will have a better idea of where we stand this year in a couple of hours. We’ve shown we can go with the roosters and rabbits but we need to get it done here!
