I'm not sure what's up with Sia, but I'm hoping the big fella has a great game this week. He's been a bit off.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Aidan Sezer retained at halfback for Canberra Raiders NRL clash with Cronulla Sharks

Revitalised Canberra Raiders halfback Aidan Sezer has reclaimed the club's No. 7 jersey with the toughest period of his career firmly in the rear-view mirror.

"It's great [to have that depth at halfback], they're both great players. 'Seze' had a blinder of a game over the weekend," Nick Cotric said. "He's got a little stocky body, he runs hard, tackles hard, he's a good player. So is Sammy, Sammy's kicking game is good.

A win here with byes, international round and Parra coming up set us up VERY nicely to come out of the origin period.

The way I read the dates, we will not play another game while our origin reps are in camp, as international and bye rounds fall in camp weeks.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

The five rounds that changed the NRL season

The past five weeks have flipped the NRL season on its head, blowing open the race to the premiership in a way that could not have been predicted. Fox Sports Lab has compiled a form ladder based on the past five rounds, isolating this period as the reason for the shake-up of the NRL table.

Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart set to unleash unusual halfback plan

Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart is giving Sam Williams the week-end off and he says he plans to give Aidan Sezer a spell at some stage in the future as well.

"Aidan did a good job last week and I'm going to give Sam [Williams] the week off, he's not going to play for Mounties," Stuart said. "Aidan will get another spell at some stage, again to get a bit more of that energy you can get from having a week or so off, so that's my plan at the moment."

Prime Minister Scott Morrison to see benefits of new Canberra stadium for himself?

The Canberra Raiders have invited Morrison to watch them play his beloved Cronulla Sharks at Canberra Stadium on Thursday night. While Don Furner said new stadium talk wouldn't be on the agenda if he goes, preferring to let Morrison enjoy the game, the Prime Minister will get to see why Canberra does need a new venue.

He's gone from Canberra Raiders public enemy No.1 to the inner sanctum.

"First time coaching against them since I finished playing there," Ennis said. "I've got some great friends in the side. But I've got a job at the Raiders and I want our boys to win."

It's Canberra Raiders Jack Wighton's chance to put Origin blue behind him
Andrew Johns

This is an important weekend for a lot of players. With NSW positions on the line, it’s the last chance to impress Blues coach Brad Fittler for game two in Perth on June 23. So, this is a big game, in particular, for Raiders five-eighth Jack Wighton.
