Any chance the miracle man Rapana is back this week? He was moving pretty well through the isles of Bruce yesterday

Raiders will win, mark my words, you gotta play sooooo bad for dogs to win, the performance we put up against the cowboys would beat the dogs, they are sooo bad, I have watched most of their games as my bro and sis support them, they would kick for touch if they were behind by 12, never try repeat sets, I mean surley they cant be the 2004 dogs this week, they suck, they are last, we cant lose this, like seriously cannot lose this, Melbourne had a shocker and still smashed them, for god sake the Drags put 40 on them. there best player in my opinion is Napa and CHN, wouldnt be suprised if Foran is out for this match,

I hope youre right, cause now we are only 1 win away from dropping down to our usual 10th position so needless to say we need this win badly.

Next few games make or break our season. Time for the coach to step up. If Manly can do it there is absolutely no reason we can't.

Even when Manly had those injuries they still had a very good pack though. Taupau, AFB, Jake T. Not only do we have 8 out, they're probably our 8 best players.

Gulp

Pretty much pick who’s fit for this game.

CNK
Simonsson
Croker
Kris
Oldfield
Sezer
Williams
Lui
Havili
Soliola
Young
Whitehead
Sutton

Starling (hopefully we can play him from outside the 30)
Horsburgh
Tapine
Guler

Hunt
Hingano

Then I don’t think there are 2 available players to even be 20 and 21?

Hopefully those available aim up.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

JJ Collins and Murchie are the only other available first grade players I think. Although Murchie hasn't been playing for Mounties.

If the NRL has forgotten about Hingano playing hooker we may be able to use Starling without upgrading him.

Papalii
Leilua
Rapana
Cotric
Murchie

Amazing that the 18 available still fill a team position wise.

I know we're hard up for injuries but after that effort last week Williams really needs to go back to Mounties.

Hingano/Sezer or Whitehead/Sezer in the halves. Hopefully Starling being withdrawn from Mounties yesterday means he's in the firsts squads now and can rotate the #9 with Havili.

Joe Tapine return for Canberra Raiders tempered by Josh Hodgson's broken thumb

The revolving door of the casualty ward in Canberra continues to spin wildly with the return of Joe Tapine tempered by a broken thumb to Englishman Josh Hodgson.

"It's footy and I've been in the wars lately but for me personally it's frustrating and depressing sometimes," Joe Tapine said. "But it's footy, it's a contact sport, it's going to happen but sometimes you question why it's happening.

No chance it’s gonna be anything other than Sezer/Williams this weekend. And this is the exact reason why we have Williams on our books. Only real question is how the bench is made up. If Starling was hooked from Mounties I imagine he’ll be our No. 14.

I honestly think we'll see either Tapine or Soliola still come from the bench. Having that impact/old head come on at the 20min mark has been a big part of our success this season.

This will be Sezer/Hingano's big shot at breaking back into first grade... Hopefully we see a big game out of him/them

What's wrong with kicking for touch when you're behind by 12? Shouldn't you want to get closer to the opposition tryline to score a try? Beats kicking for penalty goal, or a tap-and-go from your own half...

I think you're right Sid. He was holding his chest with some injury so I hope he is ok to play. I wouldn't start him. He said he was puffing due to lack of match fitness so if he comes on after 25 then has a break before going again it would be better for the team.

Quite a few times in 2016 and 2018 actually. They were the halves the last two times we played the Dogs as well.

I didn't think Starling was contracted to the club. Therefore to play he needs a contract, and would be a top 30. Lucky we have a spot open.

At best it's a development player. If true, then we can probably get dispensation as like for like roles with Hodgson. Hingano is a half, and registered as such, even if he has played some hooker.

Can anyone clear that up?
edwahu

Re: 2019 Rd 12 V Bulldogs: Teams and Previews

Post by edwahu »

It's not made clear but I don't think you register a player in a position. The NRL would look at whether we have someone who can play at Hooker based on what they have done in the past. It would be discretionary, I don't think they would force us to play Sia at centre for example.

Development players can play but only after June 30, and I don't think Starling is one.

Given the length of Hodgos injury I think they would probably upgrade Starling.
