Whoever goes to right centre will have plenty of defensive reads to make with Munster and Ponga coming at them

North Queensland Cowboys aim to crush a Canberra Raiders pack with a ‘chip on their shoulder’
North Queensland are preparing for a Canberra pack with a “chip on their shoulder” but expect superstar Jason Taumalolo to contain their youthful exuberance.
“They are a good young pack, there’s a lot of energy there and I think they have a bit of a chip on their shoulder when they come up against some of the more established packs in the comp,” Josh Hannay said.

Re: 2019 Rd 11 V Cowboys: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
Ive been thinking about how much this game is going to say about our attitude and mentality this season.
- We have 2 players that have a possibility of picking up a Blues jersey this week in Cotric and Wighton - how will they both go knowing that all eyes are on them?
- We have really 'been up' physically for the last 2 games - very high impact, high speed matches. How do we fare off the back of that?
- Will we be able to maintain the effort mentally after two very high profile match ups now that we are facing a lower placed team who we have already beaten this year, or will this be a 'banana peel' game
- We have gone into a lot of games this year without the weight of expectation - we are 100% expected to win this game, how will we handle that
Re: 2019 Rd 11 V Cowboys: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
We've also got two young forwards who played well last week by taking on some big names. Their play and the big media coverage it got will have put a lot of pressure on them and a big fat target on their backs from what is one of the scarier and most experienced packs in the game (I think we can out earlier season form out of the road now that Origin is here and Lolo is back to lead them). That will be another big point- can they back it up.
Massive game, I agree.

Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart confident mental toughness won't be an issue
Raiders coach Ricky Stuart dismissed suggestions his side might be mentally scarred from two heartbreaking losses heading into Saturday's meeting with North Queensland at GIO Stadium.
"Going on by our numbers and what we've collected physically they're looking okay," Stuart said. "They have been up for a big two games and it's been a big fortnight, but good teams can't have a week off."

Ricky Stuart prepares for Canberra Raiders balancing act, with Tapine and Bateman returning to the team
He is quickly piling up the puzzle pieces - now Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart just has to find a way to make them fit. John Bateman is poised to return to full-time training upon his return to Canberra next week as the English import eyes an early return from a fractured eye socket.
"He's back early next week. It's been handy to be able to give him a little bit of time at home with his daughter and family," Stuart said.

'Good teams can't have a week off': Canberra Raiders rise for NRL test
A dose of youth looms as Ricky Stuart's most potent weapon as the Canberra Raiders arrive at the base of a newfound mental hurdle.
"Nobody can afford to have an off week. In this competition, if you have an off week, you get beaten. It's important we keep sticking to that benchmark that we're setting ourselves at the moment. If we stay consistent to that, we'll win our fair share of games.

NQ are from easy beats but we should have too much.
Win next away away to Canterbury and we are back in the thick of it.
Cotric and Wighton can win us this game.

We should have some faith the boys will turn up to play as they have all year and guts it out over the Cowboys

Titans doing us a favour. A win will give us even more breathing room.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a good ol' Canberra ambush.

All the outsiders getting a win so far and Newcastle look to be on their way does not fill me with confidence.

I know the feeling
It's a simple game; tackle, back-up, pass, hold the ball! What did I say? "Hold the bloody ball!!"

ABC Canberra Grandstand today...
Pre-recorded audio of Todd Greenberg on Canberra Stadium.
Ricky Stuart interview:
Really liked what Todd Greenberg had to say, spoke to our Club 82, leadership group, spoke to the board, great to have the NRL here and to hear the big picture they have for the game.
Raised the issue yesterday about regional clubs and I liked what Todd Greenberg had to say, I was excited about what he had to say about building relationships with all of the clubs.
Important game today, given last night's result, and to keep in touch with the leaders? There is no "big three"... it is only Round 11 of the competition, it is the early stages. Newcastle... a month ago they were talking about replacing the coach, last night they showed what they can do and they're a good team in the top five. We have to be switched on today, if we're not, we'll get beaten. If you have a couple of players off their game, the team is not focused, you get beaten. That's the nature of the competition.
Happy with how we're handling injuries, some of the young players are taking their opportunity, creating good depth. Having the injured players coming back, it is good for competition for positions. I'm a big fan of players playing for their spot.
Sam Williams. He is tested every week and he has a healthy desire to compete. Good in how he's managing our attack, keeps the shape of the team, doing a good job.
Would you have preferred to meet the Cowboys when it is a little bit colder? Has helped us before, I must admit. Some funny vision of Johnathan Thurston in previous years. But the key is we are on our game.
