Still a decent start to the season. We are in the 4? Still. Better than the past 3 years where we have spent the season playing catchup.

Yeah no. We just run one-out crash balls instead.

Lachlan Croker is going to get 3 dally m points here, and deservedly so, he was the best half on the park today, and their hooker rotation comfortably out played ours

Unhappy, but not too unhappy. Still a great effort.

It's a game of inches. If Hodgo doesn't make stinker plays in the 1st half and takes the 2 before the break, and Raps doesn't get injured, we win that just IMO.

We lost that game as soon as DCE went off. Decided that we had already won the game and mentally clocked off. Also we are about 30-40% less effective in attack without a Rapana on the park.

This narrative needs to end. It just has zero basis in fact

Yep Manly threw zero forward passes you goose. No one can seriously say there were not Manly forward passes let go by the refs and linesmen.

Even I'm not blaming the ref's for that one so get your hand off it guys... That was us mentally not respecting Manly and not adjusting when Rapana went off. Our game management was garbage and Hodgson over played everything he was involved in....

He wasn’t playing at the ball
There has to be SOME onus maintained to secure the footy
The annoying part of those calls is that could easily get penalised next week, it’s down to how the refs interpret it

What I would like to see from the team is more bodies in motion in the redzone. We can complain about what the spine does and it is poor and easy to predict against but that is because we don't really do anything. One of the things I notice between us and better sides is that better sides will play one off the ruck in the redzone too but with decoy runners and better angle runners to create doubt in the defenders mind. We are very easy to read

It doesn't matter if its hodgson or williams passing it to a prop who is running dead straight with no support runners at the end of the day.

I think we lost our way when Rapana went off, we reshuffled the entire backline. We looked rutterless from that point on, you can’t always account for injury unfortunately .

Well that one's a bit of a reality check, I think. 5 and 2 is probably a better reflection of where we are than 6 and 1 is.

The first 20 mins was very good, then after Rapana's injury resulting in the edge reshuffle, and a LOT of penalties against due to ill-discipline... it all went downhill.

We've conceded 46 points in the last two weeks. I think it's time for everybody to stop talking about how good the defense is until it improves a bit. It's great at times, but you don't concede 46 points in two games if you really are the best defensive team in the comp.

We were garbage. But the completely lopsided penalty count didn't help.

I don't want to use refs as an excuse. Manly ran over the top of us. Still have to say it felt like they were only refine 1 side in that 2nd half.

Yeah we're definitely not good at that, despite having some brilliant hole runners in Papalii, JB, and Whitehead.

Not sure what Sticky and the attack coach are doing in this regard.

Williams we get the blame for that even though he was ball staved and not supported... Near the end of the game we let him run solo at the line and he understandably got smashed... Don't know what happened out there but the team looked flat for most of the game minus a few flashes of individual brilliance....

13-5 penalty count and 57-43 possession. That's brookvale....and we could have still won playing like EDIT...I'm not concerned.
