My fear is that we will play the Donkeys back into form for this one.... on the other hand, with old man Darius and Milfplod we cant lose! If we are serious about this year we should be winning this one by 20+... broncos are crap

Horsburgh onto the bench for Tapine.
Sezer to play Mounties. You can't drop Sammy after that.

Cautious of a Broncos bounce back, but you'd rather play them now than if they were red hot

Not that ladder position is the be all and end all at this stage but with the Roosters and Storm facing off this round a top 2 spot if not first spot should be up grabs for us here.
Wouldn’t that be something at the quarter season mark.

IMO the only team that can beat us in this contest is us.
If we turn up to play and defend like we did in the Parra game, the ponies will be clueless in attack.

Brisbane is going to be fired up and they do have talent. Its almost must win for them at this point.
So we better be switched on and intense

Re: 2019 Rd 6 V Broncos: Teams and Previews
Bronco's have a lot of talent in their lineup and will be playing for their season almost + an almighty media revs up.
Will need to play excellent consistent footy to win imo. Turn up complacent and they will enthuse the crap out of us- still good front runners the Broncs I reckon. But if we play like today and just professionally keep calm, build pressure then I think they have more problems than we do and will wobble if we put points on - and points we can do either in a burst or in a methodical style like today.
Attitude check round this one.

Re: 2019 Rd 6 V Broncos: Teams and Previews
The Broncos have struggled against teams that have defended well and gone through the middle. We should be winning this game in a similar way to how we've won the last few. In behind the ruck, defend your mistakes. Don't panic.
More specifically stay active in defense on their 5th tackle if your kick pressure doesn't work. Do not kick to Corey Oates if you can't contest the bomb.
Give Leilua time and space up against Staggs every day of the week. Not only will he beat him but Oates will also feel the need to come in most times.
As far as our team goes it depends if Horsburgh needs more minutes or not. The injury (Tapine) throws a bit of a spanner in the works. Young has now also had a pretty good taste and could do with some minutes back at Mounties. I'd like to see Murchie come in for Young. I'd also like to see Guler but can't realistically see him off the bench for Mounties one week then against the Broncos next week.

10. Lui
11. Bateman
12. Whitehead
13. Sutton
14. Havili
15. Murchie
16. Horsburgh
17. Soliola
If Havili succumbs to injury then Hunt takes his spot.

We keep playing the way we are we don't have to worry a great deal. We have to be on our game defensively but we have shown we can and we can do it for 80min.

Re: 2019 Rd 6 V Broncos: Teams and Previews
We are developing into the 'tough to beat' side we need to be. Sure we have some work to do to maintain pressure with the ball, notably kicks out on the full and kicks that find opposition legs, but we are now better placed to defend it. Our middle 3 are doing their job very well.
Horsepower in if Tapine not available.
No other changes for mine. Winning form is good form.

Penalty Broncos could be a worry here.
Re: 2019 Rd 6 V Broncos: Teams and Previews
Ricky stated that this is the worst time to play the Broncos, so at least he will be drilling it in his team to take this game to another level, in saying that im hearing Brisbane will be making Mass changes in their lineup, in particular the halves, what ever the case may be I just hope Raiders smash them, expecting a massive crowd for this one, but seriously how bloody good is Bateman, Going back to that Parra game, I love how they didnt just tackle, Raiders had an attitude in their defence, and you can see it in the Eels they were shocked, with the Broncos I think its a matter of shutting down the halves.
The Benji effect this week is......Daruis Boyd, always looks like a billion dollars against the Raiders.

Re: 2019 Rd 6 V Broncos: Teams and Previews
We really should win this game if we keep up our defensive efforts. The Broncos halves look completely lost in the opposition's 20 this year... I would love to see us hold a team scoreless for a second week straight.
Re: 2019 Rd 6 V Broncos: Teams and Previews
We should be bombing to Isaako all game, he has a serious case of the yips. We control the game in the first 20 minutes like we did last night and we go a long way to winning. Broncos always start full of bluster but the heads can go down quickly.

If we defend like we did against the Eels then we shouldn't have any issues. They're an absolute dogs breakfast with the ball in hand.
In attack, just run traffic at Nikorima and Fat Tony all afternoon, and Darius the Cat will take a dive if we break the line.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.
