I'd still like to see Soliola starting. He's much more effective than Lui in all facets at the moment and Lui would have an easier time against the 2nd string forwards than he would be against guys like Bromwich and NAS.
Still getting dominated a little too easily and a little too slow at marker.

Having Soliola on when Papili is off gives a better balance to the team, if not the big impact that would be nice in the first ten.

I just really don't care about having a better balanced team if for example we're already down 12-0 when our 2nd best prop comes on. Me and Ricky are never going to agree on this. Come at me clique boys.

I'm not sure we learned much about our 2019 team at Titans, but I think we'll have a much better idea by the end of this game.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

I've changed my mind on this very issue about 12 times already after a preseason and 1 round. You make a good point though. I have splinters here Zim!

Its perhaps the toughest turnaround possible considering their grinding style and the conditions we played in away so still need to fly back. We've just got to deal with it though, no point complaining or feeling hard done by. Turn up with the same effort and intent and hopefully we have enough energy to get past them at home. A good crowd wouldn't hurt.

If the boys put in with attitude and effort as they did last night, it won't matter the size of the crowd, the noise will be incredible. I think that was one of the things that impressed me most last night.

I'm quite concerned about the turnaround, too. Hopefully they planned ahead for it and are going to be nice and organised. I think it's safe to say we have the worst turnaround possible this week - a game in hideous conditions on Sunday evening to a game against the toughest team in the comp on Friday evening. Hopefully the boys are in the mindset of "so let's prove we can do it!" rather than "omg this sucks".
And to all the people who doubted me, hello to them as well. - Mark Webber, Raiders Ballboy and Unluckiest F1 Driver Ever

I'm attacking in the right way, instead of just...attacking in the general direction. - Max Aaron (also eerily apropos for the Green Machine)

Rick has said (many times) that he’s not one to make excuses...

... So I’m expecting not to hear any mentions this week about a 5 day turnaround off a heavy track last night, are you?

Do we bring Oldfield back for Simmonson if fit? I liked what I saw from Simmonson but the fact he only made it ~65 minutes before cramping up was a worry. Oldfield is also incredibly safe.

Winning form is good form so I don't think there will be any changes. Oldfield does not have any match fitness so I think Sticky will have him with Mounties if he is available.

I didn't see last nights game. Were there any players who copped a serious knock?

Simmonson went off the field late in the game but it didn’t look serious

I think we should. I thought Oldfield would be back for round 1, so maybe he will be alright for round 2 or 3.

No, no, I'm building up the narrative. Can you imagine? One of the journos turns to Cam Smith... "So Cam, people are calling you the toughest team in the comp, and you had an eight day turnaround, but you lost convincingly to the Raiders who were on a five day turnaround on a heavy track. Can you explain what happened tonight?"

I'll probably win a few more people over if we start badly against Melbourne :D, but I'd rather be giving Lui POY points because he's come out and killed it.
