Im confused... Are you saying the BJ/ Simmo change before the start of the game is an interchange? Because it wasnt. Fox said it was, Nine confirmed that it wasnt, because it happened prior to the start of the game. It was treated like a player being injured in the warmup. The weird bit was, rather than being replaced by 18th man, it was a switch within the 17.

Annseley said it was treated like an interchange in his Monday review. At least that’s what I thought he was saying.

No GE that is incorrect. I've listened to his review.

Simmonson starting for BJ was a free interchange. No different to any player being hurt in the warmup with the 18th man coming in. Anneseley explained the process between the 2 Docs and ground manager, and thats what happened. The oddity is that BJ joined the bench rather than the 18th man.

If the Raiders had decided to swap Simmo and BJ back the sec BJ was right to go, that would have been a change.

As it turned out, Cotric got the early HIA, and couldnt return. That constituted the 1st interchange by us.

We have been very lucky with backs on the bench and had HIAs this yr. I know Simmo and Kris both had nothing mins in 2. But I remember Simmo for Rapa has happened twice, one I think was Magic round, cant think of the other ATM? BJ for Cotric the other night.

As confirmation, the BJ and Simmo change is not registered as a change on the NRL page. Scroll down to get the list of changes.

Yeah the straight swap with Simmo before kick off didn't count as one. I think the issue was if and when BJ was to take the field it would count as interchange against us. But perhaps it didn't matter in the end as he came on for Cotric who went off a HIA.

Back to the old days, unlimited replacements, but no coming back once you're replaced?
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Cotric > BJ #1

But other than that you’re spot on about the interchanges.

Some people were upset about BJ coming on counting as an interchange (which as mentioned above became kind of moot when Cotric is removed from the game, because even with no firework we would have needed an interchange to get the same backline after that happens). Had Cotric not been ruled out it’s more debatable about whether it should count. On one hand should the Raiders be charged an interchange to get the side they wanted on the field but couldn’t through the accident? On the other should the Raiders be allowed a set of fresh legs for free that the storm don’t get? Either way you disadvantage a team, so no good option. Personally I think counting it as an interchange is probably the way to go and the NRL made the right call.

The old boy is entering into Rabbits Warren territory.
He just got George Williams name mixed up but I think he genuinely thought Brodie Croft had played. :woot:

Another great ep, and as one of the 7000 odd people who were at that 68-4 Storm game I agree that was the lowest of the low, but that’s what makes this week even more special

The beginning did make me laugh!

So if Raiders Review with Blake and the Pork is the third most popular Raiders podcast... what is the list of podcasts in terms of popularity these days?

Note The GH Live is a vodcast and podcast! As is Behind the Limelight too this year... and we have new podcasts this year... Bad And Mean Podcast... and Raiders on Mix.

I wonder if any NRL club has this many podcasts?

I haven't had time to listen to it all yet, but this is really where you should be taking the time to give episodes proper titles.
"Blake hates Ricky's guts" or "The Pork dies on a hill defending Jack de Belin" is bound to draw a few more listeners in.
