Raiders forward Elliott Whitehead admits that he would jump at the chance to represent the Great Britain Lions at the end of the 2019 season however the versatile forward is adamant that his focus is solely on firing the Raiders back into the NRL finals in 2019.

As Brian Carney pointed out they are meant to be the Great Britain and Ireland Lions.

Mind you I doubt there will be anyone in the team that does not qualify to play for England.

Josh Hodgson said appointing Wayne Bennett coach of Great Britain was a ''no-brainer'' and the chance to feature on the first Lions tour in 12 years would be a career highlight.

"Wayne has been a massive part of England's upward climb, and we're improving really well. So it was a great choice to make him coach of the Lions. It was a no-brainer really. I love what he has brought to the international team. He's all about playing for your mate.
