He is Canberra’s latest English recruit, who has been described as “grubby”, “a half gypsy” and a mix between James Graham and Anthony Watmough.
“He’s not the biggest guy and he doesn’t have the best rig on him. You saw him and thought: ‘OK, there’s nothing special’ but he has a brilliant football brain. He puts his head where other people wouldn’t put their feet — and that is what you need to make it in the NRL,” said ex team mate Heath L’Estrange
That does not sound good. It sounds like he is booking a space in the head bin. I've not seen him play, other than some highlights, so like all new comers, I wish him well and wait to see how he performs in the NRL.

I’m all in. This is my opinion. You are entitled to yours.
So, in saying that, no is your answer.
Bloody negos everywhere. Get onboard the Rick-train or get off at the next station, h8ers!!
It’s ok Rickman, I can understand others will want to see a few good performances before getting on board, thats perfectly understandable. But I’m quietly confident they will all come to Jesus on this one eventually, and by round 8 there will be a huge groundswell of support behind Rick.

I suggest that by Round 8 the whole forum will want to change its name to "The Rickhouse"!
I hope you are right, or else we will just look like a couple of prize Rick-heads
To late for that mate.
I bow down to thee oh great Nickman, the wisest of the wise, your political adroitness is unsurpassed, your sagacity is unmatched, your wisdom shines through on this forum amongst us mere mortals as bright as your scalp under the light of a full moon, never shall I doubt your analytical prowess again. You are my hero, my lord, my savior, may you accept my offerings so you continue to bless us with your genius.
Joey Leilua fit and raring to go for Canberra Raiders' season opener
I'm ready. Canberra Raiders star centre Joey Leilua has declared himself fit for the season opener against the Gold Coast Titans. Leilua injured his left hamstring at training a few weeks ago, but said he was over that now.
"It's all fine now, it should be ready to go by round one. I don't even know it's there," Leilua said. "Sometimes I feel like I should've played that trial [in Bega]. I'm excited to get back out of there to play ... all the hard work's done now and we've just got to get out there and perform. Hopefully I'm there."

You're joking BJ. Hopefully you have improved your communication in the defensive line and don't follow players without the ball across field leaving huge gaps like last year. Seeing is believing BJ. The hard work is only just beginning.

.
Most of those were started from Austin going in and bj and the winger having to follow
I don’t get the secrecy though. The club is never transparent when players are returning from injury. I’m sure the other 15 coaches aren’t losing too much sleep over when Rapana is going to come back.

You say that until Sticky hits Garth Brennan with a Rapana missile at 5:10pm on Sunday week
I understand if he’s coming back in round 1. But then again, not really because teams are named 5 days before the game is played anyway. Probably just more of a case of the club thinking it’s no one else’s business how a players’ recovery is going.

He won't be back R1, that was all an elaborate double cross i'm trying on Brennan for when he reads this thread.
We continue to **** about with blokes that are part of some fraternity. It's infuriating.

No Nemesis, it was BJ following his opposite center out even though his opposite number did not have the ball. It then left a huge gap on the inside which was exploited time after time.
There was more than one symptom out there but that was definitely one. He would slide too early at times instead of staying tight until it was passed. Concentration thing.
That might be being a bit harsh on Ryan Sutton. Didn’t get a starting shot in any of the trials. He might have been being “saved”, but he was pretty quiet in the trials.
As far as predicted lineup articles go that one is not terrible. There's been some shockers on Foxsport and The Roar. There was one kicking around that had Luke Bateman as a starting prop at one point.

That's the top 17 I'd run with based on the preseason.

I agree with GEs side. Let's hope Ricky does too. The only possible difference is whether you have Sia coming off the bench so you're not subbing on two rookies after 20 minutes.
