No, that's not correct. There are scanning machines at Canberra Stadium for every ticket. One beep is one person. If members don't attend, or tickets are not used, they are not counted.

I've checked this with the club. But it's obvious isn't it? We had 20,000 members last year. We certainly didn't have 20,000 crowds clocked every week.

I’ve raised my concerns about crowd figures in the past. But I think the last few seasons have been pretty honest.

A few of those claimed 10k crowds from around 5 years ago, when there were completely empty bays and not a single bay that was more than half full were very dubious. Especially when car parks at the ground and CIT were very empty and when compared to other crowd figures posted from Brumbies and soccer.

But the claimed Rugby League World Cup crowds were totally bogus.

The numbers are people who scan their tickets at the gate.
