Michael Ennis joins Canberra Raiders as coaching consultant

Post by greeneyed »

Which Fox Sports TV commentator is about to join Ricky Stuart’s coaching staff at the Canberra Raiders as a consultant. It’s a huge coup for Ricky and the Raiders.

Ricky has hired Ennis for his expertise in rubbing it in Raiders fans faces.

Consultants can do more than one club though... let's hope.

Cant see it . He has his media commitments too. The Broncs fly their halves down to Sydney for him to train them

Aside from the obvious club connection, he’d be handy for a team desperately hoping to develop a fullback.

Are Corey Parker and Justin Hodges the worst ever commentators hired by a TV network in Australia? I think so.

Maybe I'm forgetting Wally Lewis, who is one of the greatest ever players, but certainly amongst the worst TV performers... Andrew Johns is poor on TV too. Shane Webke... anyone who has seen him on TV... :nooo

I think Hodges is probably the all-time worst.

Surely, the evidence is in that being an excellent league player almost definitely means you’ll be a terrible commentator.

Can we just get commentators who love the game, understand the game, can communicate, have original thoughts and whose main aim each week is to provide accurate, interesting commentary? Happy to listen to three footy nerds who never played above local third grade, if that can be achieved.

Hodges and Parker are very bad. Lockyer and Fittler atrocious.

Wally was horrible at the start but is OK now, in my opinion.

I also must be one of the few who finds Andrew John's bearable and find him to have insightful commentary from time to time.

Could be Cam Smith to help Donny with his salary cap management.

I'd be stoked if it was Kevvy, he's been the guy to have the broncos halves firing.
Joey knows his footy inside out in minute detail but his personality is a bit full on.

One of the very worst we've had in Super League. Absolutely dreadful coach.

Anyway, hope it's Blocker. Not sure what he could offer, but I love listening to him. Has more passion for the game than the rest of them put together.

Kevvie was at Catalans wasn't he, weren't they a basket case of a club?

I can't see blocker helping out the raiders and if I'm being honest I don't think he would actually help much. He's enthusiastic but so is a blue heeler.

Could the Fox TV commentator joining the Raiders be ‘John Michael Hollywood Housen’.

That would make more sense than some of the others. We could get some great show biz gossip on why Lindsay Lohan should be our next Hooker and how Liam Neeson can handle a media scrum.
