Canberra Raiders look to upgrade and extend contract for Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad

Post by kiwi raider »

Charnze Nicoll Klokstad has apparently signed, good depth cover with Rapana’s injury.

Surprise as promising utility Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad leaves Warriors

Promising Warriors utility Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad is leaving the club. The 23-year-old, who signed from the Storm four years ago, announced his departure on social media last night. Nicoll-Klokstad, who made seven NRL appearances during the 2017 season, is off to the Canberra Raiders.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

Seems like a good signing as the Rapana replacement at this late stage.

Played for the Storm in the U20s. Played every position in the backline form the looks of it.

Good depth signing , may even play FG until raps is back.

That's 29 signed, so 1 spot left. I think there are 2 dev spots left as well.

So from that article, he’s a Centre / Wing with some utility value...

Has he played any fullback??

Good player from what I’ve seen. Genuine utility though and not really a specialist in any of the backline positions.

There’s some under 20s footage where he’s got a 1 on his back 🤷‍♂️

Looks decent enough from those highlights. Good footwork at the line and looks willing to do some of the tough grinding runs. I'm always a bit wary of the 'razzle dazzle' highlights packages so that wasn't too bad. Probably the exact type of backline player we need and hopefully using the 'Rapana injury' money here.

Yea Fusitua's and Maumalo's form last year meant he didn't get a crack and languishing in reserve grade isn't really a knock on his talent in this case, The Warriors have a heap of depth now with Hiku, Beale, Kata, Ayshford as well as Taane Milne on a trial contract and some really promising up and comers like Patrick Herbert, Hayze Perham, Adam Pompey, Lewis Soosemea, Selestino Ravutaumada, I think this is a good move for all involved

Pretty happy with that signing. He was pretty highly rated 12-18 months ago. Could really help us get through the Rapana period.

Looks like we are signing Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad from the Warriors. According to his instagram posts he said thanks to the Warriors for giving him a chance and he cannot wait for this new opportunity.

Ata said see you soon....

Sigh, no FB for us then....

It's worth zero. You can't use proper nouns.

He's a very good young player. He's really best on the wing, however. I'm not sure he's a fullback solution. I suppose this could allow Oldfield to play fullback...

Only 1 x K in scabble too. If you play it you're cheating.

I would argue the Warriors back 3 are the best in the NRL. Not going to hold it against a rookie if they can't crack it.
However he is playing on the wing in reserve grade, not fullback. Anyone who thinks he is the solution to fullback will be dissapointed.
Good quality depth player, which we need.

He's played some fullback before. Was down the depth chart in that posi at the Warriors so wouldn't have played there recently. At least we know he's a capable winger so covers for Rapana.

Assuming Jack is in the halves our fullback options are now Abbey, Oldy, Cotric and CNK. No stand out there really. Just have to see which one steps up best.

If we sign Edwards for fullback now, it'd be a good recruitment haul... and we would be a top eight team.
