So Daley should feel obligated to this club, who to my knowledge has NO interest in paying him as a coach, to the point of simply forgoing a paying job in his chosen field?

To be perfectly honest, that’s some A-Grade ****

I don't recall anger when McFadden ended up Warriors coach.

Or when Purtell ended up coaching the Albury Thunder. .

I wonder how GE would feel if he knew Daley grew up supporting the Roosters.

What a load of rubbish GE. These guys are professional football coaches. They go where the work is. You can’t deny them earning a living.

Like Ricky coaching the Roosters, Sharks and Eels?
Like Bellamy coaching the Broncos and Storm
Like Kev Walters coaching the Broncos
Like Henjak coaching the Broncos?
Like McFadden coaching the Warriors?
Like Furner coaching the Rabbitohs?

And that other great mafia quote, with a Raiders spin.

Just when I thought I was in, they push me back out.

Wests Tigers furious as NRL blocks attempt to appoint Daley as halves coach

The NRL has blocked Wests Tigers’ attempt to employ Laurie Daley as a halves coach because his radio presenting job has ties to the betting industry. Sky Sports Radio is owned by Tabcorp and Daley provides rugby league tips on one of the segments. Under the NRL rules, registered participants are prohibited from having ties with betting operators.

Reminds me of the time Erin Molan was blocked from being able to be part of the Canberra Raiders board due to her conflict of interest of having inside knowledge of which fart jokes the footy show were going to tell that Thursday.. Meanwhile guys like Gus Gould are allowed to have their fingers dipped into all sorts of pies

So players and coaches aren't allowed to tip? Are they allowed to predict a winner, say during tv coverage? Gould, Johns, Fittler, Lockyer, Wally, Parker?

That's a pretty **** up decision but if it is one or the other, I hope Loz takes the coaching gig.
