Could be wrong but I had the sense that Vaughan didn’t leave Canberra on the best of terms

I've seen you guys rubbish a return to home suggestion before for Lachlan Lewis how ever he would astutely a great foil for Wighton. His kicking game is pretty damn handy and he isnt afraid of making his tackles while still being effective enough.
He took on Sam Burgess and won that battle this year regardless that the bunnies won. The Bulldogs are just terrible this year and that isnt down to him. If Sezer is tot go early and perhaps to the doggies then bring back Lewis in return.
I know George William's is coming next year but I care more so about this year.

The keyboard hero is back, The Rickman.
So when ever a newer poster starts a fair observational comment with depth to it you just turn it into illogical non factual feedback.
Cool life you have Rick and Julian.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019
Just a bit of banter dude. For me Lewis is a player I just never rated and sort of stumbled into first grade. I realize plenty disagree but that’s just my take.
I’ve been known to be very wrong though. I thought Josh Lewis would be a star.

I think the problem is we could only offer him a backup spot next year. I don't think he will jump at that.raider 86 wrote: ↑June 5, 2019, 2:57 pm I've seen you guys rubbish a return to home suggestion before for Lachlan Lewis how ever he would astutely a great foil for Wighton. If we could get him as the backup half for next year it would be a good get though.
Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019
The issue is, he's only being used by the Bulldogs as a back up as well. I think he's a good young player. Will depend on which players remain in the halves however to determine if there's a spot.
Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019
If he comes cheaper than williams than its an upgrade on our backup half.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019
It's hardly a lengthy mythology mate. Not exactly RR Martin or Tolkein or the Icelandic Sagas.
More a kid who we let go because he missed some tackles as an 18 yr old. Then I think he got injured and came back to play a few fill in games as Doggies half. Where he kicked ok and didn't get steamrolled.
That's about it. I think he's played less than 20 FG games at less than 20 years of age and his stats are actually decent, especially for a rookie.
I don't think we need him back as I think we need to stop recycling halves but it would not surprise me at all if he turns out to be an ok NRL footy player.
Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019
I think he has potential. We're kidding ourselves if we think our current coach can develop him into a good to great player though.

Gee you flip around a lot, it's really hard to tell your opinion from one day to the next. One day you're defending the coach and the team, next week you're sinking the boot in, then you flip back again, I can't keep up!Brew wrote: ↑June 6, 2019, 4:20 pmYou mean the way he has developed Cotric and Wighton into Origin players?gergreg wrote:I think he has potential. He doesn't have a good history of developing halves, and there is over a decade worth of failure (in that respect) to back that up. That's precisely why he is converting a fullback into a half.Brew wrote:You mean the way he has developed Cotric and Wighton into Origin players?gergreg wrote:I think he has potential. You could also substitute the word queenslander for winner there and it would mean the same thingBrew wrote:I’ll forgive you, you’re a Queenslander. The Rickman wrote:Gee you flip around a lot, it's really hard to tell your opinion from one day to the next. We’re apparently about to sign a 17 year old speed demon from the Chooks. Xavier Savage. That’s a footy player name right there. Hope he develops well.

Anyone interested on taking a gamble on Ash Taylor? Obviously we don't know whats going on but a change of scenery might be what he needs and at least from the outside I think the club is doing a good job with supporting the younger players these days.
Although I suspect he will go to one of the lower profile, lower pressure environments like the Roosters or Brisbane.

I don't know to be honest. Maybe sign Taylor instead of Williams?

You might want to hold off on that.edwahu wrote:Anyone interested on taking a gamble on Ash Taylor? Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019
Bailey and Oldfield have played well this year and deserve their place in the squad at bare minimum. We don't have a million a year to spend in a **** ash Taylor while we gave our halves and another Williams coming next year, squad is pretty much set for a shot at the title.
