Didn't Sticky kick him out?

must've extended. Just a thought.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019
Nope. I see Vaughan regressing as a player with age compared to most props. Has always relied a lot on footwork, speed and power so he will be less effective post 30
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019
Maybe, maybe not. Thing is a 3 year deal would only see him play post 30 in his last season. The bigger question is do we want to pay that much money for a prop? Our middle forwards have been pretty good this year and we have the younger ones comeing through in Horse, Guler etc

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019
It’s not even worth talking about considering he was moved on due to off field habits even though he was our best middle forward by an age.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019
We probably don't want to pay that much. Guler is in a similar mould (probably not rep level but who knows), Hors has a pretty high ceiling once he works though his youthful exuberance and his frame fills out even more. Wouldn't be too surprised if he plays Qld in a few years. Sutton is solid and still going to improve a bit.
We have a large amount of cap in Papalii up front and an international all stars back row. Does that leave us room to pay for another origin level prop?

Brisbane have just released roberts to souths which allows them room to sign sezer, whos release allows us to sign williams this year.

PS - now he is under Wayne, and will turn into a short term redemption story, watch for him to play game 2 for the Blues when Morris stinks it up

Pity it didn't happen a couple of days ago - Williams could have hung out in QANTAS club with Bateman!

What are the odds of anyone saying no to bateman?

I heard Bateman just grabbed the doctors stethoscope, conked him on the head with it then grabbed Dr's tongue, pulled and said "Ha, I knew you'd say ahhh" and was deemed fit to play.

Hate comments like this.
Outside of their big name players (many of whom they gambled on and developed to start with) they are filled with cheap players. Pretty much all their outside backs and forwards that aren’t Burgess are cheapies.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

Yeah, absolutely ridiculous comments that fans always make whenever any other club signs a good player.

Hard pass on Maloney for 1.5 years. Paul Vaughan on $700k could be alright.

If we are proposing to spend $700k on Vaughan, we should go for TPJ for $800kRaiders_Pat wrote:Hard pass on Maloney for 1.5 years. Paul Vaughan on $700k could be alright.

I think a lot of clubs would take Pangai Jr at $800k. But clubs are supposedly offering him $1mil...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019
Not sure if this has been mentioned previously... but I wonder if there is any scope to do a mid season swap - Sezer for G Williams, with us continuing to pay the full amount of Sezer's contract this year as long as Wigan covers Williams for this year. That way we can fit it all under the cap... guess it depends on whether Wigan will work out a good deal for Sezer going in to the future and whether he'd even want to go to the UK. I'd think that would be an ideal situation even if it means we have to pay some of Sezer's contract for next year, I'd say it would also cancel any transfer fee. I hope this is what Sezer was talking about re: things going on behind the scenes.
Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019
I heard on the radio that Phil Gould has admitted that the Panthers will be under salary cap trouble for next year and will need to offload players. With the talk that they are targeting a player swap of DWZ to Packer you'd think they'd be open to releasing one of their high profile forwards. I'd be interested in any of the following at the right price.
JFH at circa 500k
RCG at circa 650k (probably the most gettable of the 3)
Kikau at circa 700k
Thoughts? Is there anyone else youd target?

I'd probably pay JFH 700-800k. Massive fan and would fit right into our system.
Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019
Im a huge fan bit i couldnt go near 800k! Would push someone like tapine out of the squad youd think?

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019
Tapine would move to he middle and play prop. JFH would be lock.
Obviously fitting him in to the cap at that price might be a challenge but I have no idea of our cap situation.

What has happened to Hetherington? He looked promising last year and has fallen of the earth in 2019.

I loved Vaughany, was really disappointed when he left and totally unsurprised when he played Origin after moving. But I’m not up for paying him rep level money when we have a hungry gang of young props champing at the bit to cement a starting spot.Northern Raider wrote: ↑May 29, 2019, 8:53 amMaybe, maybe not.
