A dominant middle forward that plays 60+ minutes is worth elite money.
There's only a handful that exist so not every club has one.
TPJ is on the cusp of being one of those, and it's clear his potential is to be at Taumalolo level.
I think he's 12 months away from being worth $1Mil a year, as long as he can nail down that consistency he doesnt have quite yet.

He's worth 1 million but not on our cap. The only way he is a good buy for us is if we get a half million TPA for him. Interesting the story about the Roosters offering him a million is from 7 Brisbane. It's almost like the Broncos have planted the story so the NRL keep a close eye on the deal. A bit like we did when Milf got homesick.

Last night's game showed he's got a fair way to go before he's worth $1 million.

But if you wait until he is worth that much somebody will pay him more.

According to totalrl.com both Williams (who scored a hat trick on the weekend) and French Captain Theo Fages may be Canberra bound.

Clint Gutherson is off contract. We'd be silly not to at least have a crack. Always rated him, fully fit and confident he's a fine player.

Haven’t we had a couple of cracks at him before?
Feel free to call me RickyRicky StickStick if you like. I will also accept Super Fui, King Brad, Kid Dynamite, Chocolate-Thunda... or Brad.

Fages is 78kg. Hard to see him surviving it in the NRL. Even Keary is 85kgs now.

To be fair, the Roosters have still got a fair bit of cash to spare from when Jack Elsegood retired.

And his listed height (168cm) is 5 or 6 inches shorter than Sam Williams. Fages is a pygmy by NRL standards and a very small bloke by any standard. That's Preston Campbell size who used to have to defend on the wing.

Agree with this - he was directly responsible for conceding two tries last night, I loved how McInnes caught him out on the first one, the obvious thing to do when you have an over eager forward. TPJ is a little too injury prone, too - in saying that, he is still the sort of player an underperforming club should take a punt on.

Every player has good and bad games, the difference with million dollar ones is that when they have good ones they win them for you. TPJ is already in that category.

Million-dollar players also don't really have bad games. Can't remember the last time Taumalolo had anything less than a very good game.

Yes I posted this sometime ago. We had him agreed to terms but Parra came in at the eleventh hour and he didn’t want to leave Sydney.

TPJ is a great talent, but a pea heart and downhill skier. A bit like Milford. Not worth the money

The only hill TPJ will be skiing down is the one made of money when more successful clubs than us give it to him.

Fages is nails. He hits very hard in defence.

His performances show he's far from a complete player, but he's brimming with potential.

I am not a fan of the $1m player contract. Taumalolo is injured. 10% of the cap is sitting on the bench in one pair of boots. I don't think DCE is worth it either. Milford is also supposedly close to it - he isn't worth it imo. Cam Smith would be the only current player who could say they consistently would be worth the money. Even he doesn't guarantee a Premiership each year. Keary may get close but he hasn't got the longevity so far imo. TPJ is a fine player but I hope we never pay overs for anyone in some bidding war. Let alone someone who does not play the full 80 minutes. Values are pumped up by player managers and weak willed CEOs relying on TV money.

Yeah, nah. I think....I think most agree he is a gun we're just discussing how much he is worth, which is a reasonable discussion.

Is he a better million dollar investment for our club rather than spending a million on a half? We are not the Roosters or Broncos, we can't have nice things... I mean, we can't have 3 or 4 million dollar players in our side and smile and nod to the salary cap auditor and tell them everything is fine.

He’s worth what the market is willing to pay him. That’s literally his worth

TPJ would be our best forward
He apparently had a bad game the other night... what’s a bad TPJ night? 70 minutes, 18 runs, 170+ yards and he’s 23 years old

Yeah you’re paying a million a year for him and you should be thankful to do so

The one that will skip us and go to the Roosters or Broncos because we've paid a million for TPJ and can't afford him.

If the roosters or broncos are sniffing around and it’s an elite half, they aren’t coming here
