I think WEST Tigers to Perth makes too much good sense.

Sharks to Adelaide

OR

Someone folds for the Bears to Brisbane or the north/ central NSW coast.
There's no population centre in regional NSW left that could support an NRL team. They're all too small... and no TV market. Number one priority for me is breaking the Broncos monopoly over Brisbane... and it gives the second biggest city in rugby league heartland two teams and footy every weekend. Second priority is Perth. Big expatriat population from the east and South Africa (though that didn't work for union). Gives national spread, and is great for giving TV an extra time slot. Adelaide... small and contracting relative to other cities. No local rugby league support base at all really. Only plus is that it feeds the five State capital FTA TV networks.
The Fuiverse sees Titans become the 2nd Brisbane team, playing games out of Brisbane, with the occasional game played at Gold Coast
Feel free to call me RickyRicky StickStick if you like. I will also accept Super Fui, King Brad, Kid Dynamite, Chocolate-Thunda... or Brad.

Not surprising. Opting to keep Abbey over him yet another recruitment error.
Sorry, but one is a winger, the other a FB.
One was signed as depth for Jack.
The other walked because we had Lee and Rapana with Cotric on the way up.
So you think Abbey should've ever been signed as depth for Jack? Out and out reserve grader B.Abbey? Great talent identification that. Fair enough re Ravalawa I wasn't aware he walked.

They'd need to be re-branded if they were to have Brisbane people support them.

Sharks just signed Segeyaro.

https://au.sports.yahoo.com/segeyaro-si ... 25475.html

I'd assume it's minimum wage and they are expecting to shed players.

NRL have a last man in first man out rule for salary cap breaches. Meaning if they have to become compliant Johnson would have had to sit out the opening rounds. This will now be the case for Segeyaro...Smart play by the Sharks.

But signing him and then dumping him would mean no net change to their cap situation. So they would still have to move the next man out (Johnson).

They don’t have to dump the last player he is just ineligible to play until they get the cap right.

Its so they can cut him on Thursday :P

Probably has more to do with the Brailey bros and Flanno TBH. Allow 1 brother to leave, and offer a start to Flanno Jr

Sorry but I must need my morning coffee because I just ain't getting it. Can you draw a picture

If they punt Brailey and they get under the cap before the season starts the first in rule doesn't matter, if they punt him after the season starts Johnson is still not going to be able to play until that happens. So what does signing Seggy help with in regards to the rule?

Im suggesting theyve signed seggy for enough less than they are paying the older brailey that if they can move him on they will be under the cap. Seggy provides the cover they will need from moving brailey on

DT article says they haven't spent their cap this year , therefore hoping to avoid axing a player. Dont clubs normally get fined their breach and then also get their cap reduced by that breach. Reports are 500K , so Im guessing they are axing a player , they also have 1 spot to fill.

It's not a hard and fast rule. Manly breached 1.5m but got fined 750k but only had a cap reduction of 330k for 2 years.

Would be nice but he looks to be their best attacking weapon as far as creativity goes - unless Munster can become more consistent. Doubtful they would release him.

Where's this one been reported?

The NRL should really register deals at their highest possible value including bonuses and keep teams under that at all times. It's kind of ridiculous you can be 600k over this close to kick off.

Storm revealed to be $600k over the cap at the same time dragons are given $600k cap relief for Jack De Bell End reportedly being a complete knob. Some kind of deal has already been done so the NRL can scramble to quickly sweep away 2 problems at once before season start

Ridiculous. De Belin (allegedly) rapes a woman and the dragons get his entire salary in cap relief, when Rapana dislocates his shoulder representing his country we get half (or less) of his... I know it’s not the dragons fault, but he is a member of their club and represents them at all times while he in under contract. I cannot believe how the NRL is run.

Plus it's another rule which suddenly gets introduced after we miss out on it (regardless of whether its a right or wrong rule).

*edit* I just read the clubs are wanting to be able stockpile the cap relief for following seasons so they can use it to sign marquee players! Surely even the NRL wouldn't allow that.

That's fine, but what happens if he is found not guilty by June? The Dragons have an extra 600k in players.

I love the idea of a “good behaviour bond” which allows for a marquee allowance for clubs based on meeting some key indicators
