Good signing if true, Was a gun junior and has been on the verge of first grade for a couple of years. Provides a bit of depth/competition in the middle.

22 years old. Nothing more than a depth signing at this point.

Pretty standard lower tier prop who the Knights released. Had a lot of injuries over the years and it's still young so has some upside.

Soon to be JJ Collins:

Spent some time starting at prop for the Knights ISP side in 2018:
Round 23 vs panthers: 53mins, 25 tackles, 115m (53pcm), 0 errors, 0 pens.

Canberra Raiders sign former Newcastle Knights and Wests Tigers prop JJ Felise to two year deal

The Canberra Raiders have signed former Newcastle Knights prop JJ Felise on a two-year deal commencing 2019. Felise, 22, has played 15 NRL matches for the Wests Tigers and Knights since making his debut in 2016.

"It's great to be here, the team have been very welcoming on the first day," Felise said. "When the opportunity came to move down here, I jumped at it because of the history and tradition that this club has but also because of the talent within the playing group.

Thank the lord - I was really starting to get worried that we only had 6 fringe props on the books.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

wonder how long ago he actually signed.

Looks like we are going down the path of signing cheap players for the engine room.

Getting pretty congested at that fringe first grader / 4th prop spot:
Bateman, Horsburgh, Felise, Knight, Hunt, Guler

He had big wraps coming out of Tigz as a jr. Never got much of a run.

Knights also didnt use him much.

Still young, so as depth, i dont hate this.

Guler wins hands down, but with so many in that next tier, its good for competition.

Sutton as well. Id arguably put Lui in that category as too, he wouldn't be starting in many packs.

Makatoa still on train and trial...

Meanwhile, we only have Papalli (who in an ideal world would be playing big minute lock) and Sia (who eventually will run out of puff) as our genuine props.

One of these guys is going to have to seriously stand up if we're going anywhere in 2019.

Good opportunity for them!

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

I think Lui and Sutton are locked in as far as Rick's concerned.
He gave Lui a good stint at the end of the year and re-signed him for 3.
I wasn't super keen on Sutton. I thought he'd need a year but after watching more of him; he's also on a 3 year deal, has a lot of experience and has the right attitude. Defense and effort are features of his game.

Papa, Sia, Lui and Sutton are locked for that middle 6. One of J Bateman or Tapine will end up there too. You'd hope Guler is locked in but given past decisions him or L Bateman will round out the 6th spot.

If defense is our main concern Lui is probably the biggest worry but I just can't see him being left out. He'd be best suited for that impact role off the bench.

Couldn't get a run in some pretty average tigers packs. Doesn't exactly set the pulse racing. He's young though and we need props. Wouldn't be on much. Hope he comes good

Mounties prop means Knight and Guler might be looking at more first grade. I thought those two were quite good last year, when used. So if this guy can keep them or Lui out of FG then it's a decent budget option at minimum wage surely. We needed a prop.

Absolutely no way Sutton has been recruited to play Mounties. Certain for the top 17.

Haviili. Yeah he was one of our better players most weeks last year. He makes a real impact in attack or defense. Is a hooker and has some nice hands on a pass, good leg drive and energy when he runs (post contact and tackle breaks are v good) and hits hard enough to stop guys in the middle. Decent speed for a forward.

From his interviews lately he's been told he'll be a bench utility, which suits his skill set and has been focussing his training around adding some spark/impact when he comes on.

Never. His was glorious. Upper echelons of men’s hair. A couple of tiers above prime time Des Hasler
