It's in the Greenhouse Guidelines, you've exceeded your monthly quota of emoji's.gangrenous wrote: ↑February 12, 2019, 12:15 pm Are excessive emojis not permitted?

Thanks for tidying up my mess then!
P.S. I meant I’m very angry at Ricky, and that’s why I needed so many emojis. Reading back realised that might look like I’m angry the emojis disappeared!

Re: 2019 Trial 1 V Eels: Teams and Game Day
When do they name trial teams?
Re: 2019 Trial 1 V Eels: Teams and Game Day
Josh Papalii said on Saturday on The Greenhouse Live that he expected the team would be told who is playing on Friday, yesterday. The Broncos and Rabbitohs have already named their teams for this week. Normally, you'd expect teams to be announced Tuesday afternoon.

Parramatta Eels to roll out big guns against Canberra Raiders as NRL trials heat up
A trial match between Parramatta and Canberra at St Marys Stadium on Friday will be the opening footy game of the season with kick-off at 7pm – and Parramatta has chosen a top-shelf side including Mitchell Moses, Michael Jennings, Shaun Lane, Junior Paulo, Clint Gutherson and rising half, Dylan Brown.
Ricky Stuart isn’t expected to name a strong Canberra team for the trial. Friday night’s trial will be played over four quarters with Parramatta expected to play the opening two to three quarters with feeder club, Wentworthville, to contest the final quarter.

Re: 2019 Trial 1 V Eels: Teams and Game Day
No actual Eels team list yet.
Re: 2019 Trial 1 V Eels: Teams and Game Day
With a supposed emphasis on defence, why wouldn't the coach want to test it and tweak where necessary. Instead the test comes when competition points are up for grabs. The lack of trial matches in 2017 was dumb. To do it again in 2018 was dumber. To not make the most of trials in 2019 is even dumberer.

So Parramatta are expected to go full strength and we’re expected to go nufties?
What’s the point of a review if no one tells Ricky when he’s being a **** ****.

He said it on Saturday.
He said they'd know on Monday.
He said they'll then know who they're playing on Friday.

Ricky studied the review more closely than anybody else in the game and decided that particular section wasn't worth further consideration?gangrenous wrote:That is one hell of a confusing sentencegreeneyed wrote:Josh Papalii said on Saturday on The Greenhouse Live that he expected the team would be told who is playing on Friday, yesterday.

1 weak side and 1 full strength is the most common approach for trials, I don't know why people are upset.

I believe A number of Parra players already played in a Wentworthville trial the other day. Sounds like they will be far more prepared for this game than we are.

I am so annoyed that once again SuperCoach doesn't feel the need to give us a decent hit out.
It's not like he has a new fullback, five-eighth, front row and lock or anything. No new combinations to test out at all.
Who needs to hit the ground running Rd. 1 anyway?

Wighton hasn't played a game since July. Would make sense to give him as much field time as possible in the pre-season. Why would he sit out this game?

Timbo... m8... RIcky proved to us all the last two years that there's no point being ready to go at the start of the season, it's a long year, you just need to be hitting peak form for the finals!Timbo wrote: ↑February 13, 2019, 2:02 pm I am so annoyed that once again SuperCoach doesn't feel the need to give us a decent hit out.

Canberra Raiders half Sam Williams again fighting for his jersey
Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart will name his team tomorrow for Friday night's trial match against the Parramatta Eels at St Marys. Along with wing and fullback, there's a couple of positions on the bench up for grabs in the Green Machine's trial against the Canterbury Bulldogs at Bega, where close to their round-one side will run out. Bailey Simonsson and Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad could both get a run on Friday, while Sam Williams is back to fighting for his jersey.
"It's not something that is uncommon for myself. I've spent a lot of years where there's always been that competition within the halves," Williams said.

So I guess team list Tuesday isn’t a thing for trials? When can expect a team list?

Re: 2019 Trial 1 V Eels: Teams and Game Day
Perhaps you could post a graphic timeline with the key dates highlighted?
Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

That would have been so useful and saved me reading it five more times!
Re: 2019 Trial 1 V Eels: Teams and Game Day
Not only are we playing a single trial with our first team, I think we are actually playing it a week earlier than everyone else (I think most trials are the week following our Bulldogs trial). It is all very strange.

Re: 2019 Trial 1 V Eels: Teams and Game Day
Ill pass judgement on our trial set up this year after they are both completed.
I am not against giving our fringe guys a go in the first one if we play close to our full strength side in the second game for close to the 80 mins. That gives us a few weeks after that to sort out any issues.

Not in any match conditions, and how much time in one game have you got to test out your combinations adequately.Rick wrote:Ill pass judgement on our trial set up this year after they are both completed.

This is stupid enough to call in advance. Let alone having watched the previous two movies in the series.
Re: 2019 Trial 1 V Eels: Teams and Game Day
Playing Storm, knights and cowboys (away) in the first 5 weeks we need to hit the ground running. There is every chance we're at 0 and 4.
