So we play two trials then have two weekends off. I assume we will be going to Queensland early again.

2 trials is good news. Hopefully our spine is settled by round 1, instead of like this year where we played around with it for the first 6 rounds

Cambelltown an odd choice of venue. Are they think the location is accessible to both sets of fans?

Presume so, plus Western Sydney Stadium won’t be ready... and they can’t play at Homebush. Probably the best western Sydney alternative.

Don’t think they will care about both sets of fans for a trial game which will draw a couple of thousand people at best.
And on the same night of the ‘All Stars’ game

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

If I had a choice between watching Raiders trial and the All Star game I'd take the trial any day. Reckon most hardcore fans would think the same.

Goulburn a better option I reckon. Would get a lot more locals plus Raiders fans. Most Sydney based fans won't travel but those that do would do so if it was Campbelltown or Goulburn.

Agree NR. Trial >> All Stars for me!

Have they decided which Raider’s season is getting sacrificed on the altar of the All Stars game yet?

Interesting to see if Wighton gets picked for indigenous team. His suspension is over so he's offially available.

His form was deserving before the suspension, so I hope he gets selected. I think the community engagement that makes up a big part of the Indigenous players camp would be good for him.

Canberra Raiders to play pre-season trial against Parramatta Eels

The Canberra Raiders' new trimmed-down, mobile pack will get an early chance to test themselves against former Green Machine big bopper Junior Paulo. Parramatta and the Raiders confirmed they'll play a pre-season trial against each other at St Marys Leagues Stadium on February 15.

Parramatta Eels forward Junior Paulo looking forward to trial clash with Canberra Raiders

Former Raider Junior Paulo will come up against his old club when the Eels play a pre-season trial at St Marys Leagues Stadium on February 15 before a premiership clash between the clubs in Round 5.

"It's a big shock actually. I only had round five pencilled in the calendar. That was the first time we were going to encounter them," Paulo said. "But it's pencilled in for a lot earlier than that in February [now]. Everyone who plays football understands mates are always mates, but once you're out on the footy field it's all about doing the job for the club that you're playing for and also yourself.

happy for him to do the camp stuff not happy with him playing. We have already lost 2 players due to rep injuries, thats it for me. No raider is to play all stars!

If our Club can only organize a single trial match I'm ok with them playing season openers from a match fitness point of view.

But it doesn't help with team combinations for the Raiders so we start behind most other clubs again. We've seen this movie over the past 2 years. Spoiler alert - it doesn't have a good outcome for us.
