Flog them bad make them as fit as they have ever been - reduce the late game fades. Focus almost entirely on defense. Ball handling drills once fatigued. Forget about attacking drills.

Dr Zaius speaks the truth.

I also think they need sports psychology to overcome their mental yips.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Disagree. Should be honing the skills on flick passes, intercepts, chippy-chases, mid field bombs and post try fortnite dance celebrations

Canberra Raiders forward Sia Soliola to trim up ahead of NRL season

With the Green Machine about to hit the training track and ramp up their pre-season, Soliola will be looking to drop a few kilos by the end of November. Those kegs come in the form off lopping off his luscious locks when he cuts his and his son Alesana's hair to raise money for Canberra charity Kulture Break on November 22.

"I've done it with my first born, Israel, and I raised a bit of money over there in England and I thought I'd do the same here with this haircut," Soliola said.

Not enough focus on short kick offs or prop-as-half link plays.

Press releases saying that the focus of this pre-season is about defence. We are good at SAYING it, but when there is no accountability there is no delivery. Wash, rinse and bring it out again next year.

My Raiders Beep test for those playing at home.

Re-Watch the first three games of the season and every time you swear, Beep the swear word out and add one to the count.

I guarantee you will be Beep test over 100, by the end of game 2. No current player will be able to match our Beep Test count.

I’d be disappointed if Hodgson wasn’t practicing his crash balls or the halves weren’t honing their 4th tackle kicks - both seem to be a big part of the weekly game plan

I think we are way past 4th tackle kicks now. 3rd tackle at worst. Zero tackle kicking duel style ideally. Even if it's Sammy's 25m range and Jack's "anywhere will do" megaboot.

Canberra Raiders complete first pre-season camp

The Canberra Raiders NRL squad has returned today from an army style camp, which was used as an opportunity to get together and prepare for the start of their 2019 pre-season.

The camp featured a mix of physical and mental challenges over two and a half days, with the team working on resilience and focusing on team values.

Canberra Raiders put a brick in the wall to start NRL pre-season rebuild

The Green Machine has completed a three-day camp around the capital to lay down a marker for their goals over the next 12 months.

"It wasn't the normal run of the mill army camp in regards to being bashed up physically," Stuart said. "A number of points came out of our review from last season that there's a lot to work with in regards to the mind, resilience and making decisions under duress. Over the last two and a half days, the guys have been put under a lot of duress and then it was about choices we made, and buy in.

I'm surprised with the mention of us being "unlucky" in the video and the article there's no blow ups on here. I don't normally have an issue with those comments but it annoyed me.

I read it but I couldn't be bothered blowing up about it again. It's just Ricky been Ricky.

What disappoints me more is to see him talk about mental issues been a problem, but after a review we end up with 10 physios and trainers but still not a Sports Psych or even anything like it.

I've said it before... Telling your squad that their losses are "unlucky" or wins are "lucky" is not encouraging a high performance culture IMO. Jack Gibson used to say something like... "Everyone's lucky, you just have to put yourself in position to take advantage of it." A much better message IMO.
