Oh how I will laugh if johnson actually does sign here, funny thing is even if he doesnt come none of you can say **** because not once have I said he is coming. I remain hopeful (like a few others on here that actually have half a brain) that he will come and based on the fact we freed up 1.5-1.8 million from Paulo boyd and austin I have said he is a chance of coming which is more than fair.

But, if he does sign, holy **** all of your faces will be covered in egg and I will laugh and laugh and laugh.

How in any way, shape or form is that fence sitting I have made it very clear that it is a very real possibly he could end up here and have made it very clear that its ridiculous that people think it's no chance given a number of factors in our favour. I know the talk was of $800K plus for his next contract but surely he didn't sign for that much at the start of 2017. Anyone have a ballpark for what his current deal is worth?

I'm assuming that they've stashed some money from the retirement of Lewis, possibly towards his upgrade?

Add that to what he was already on and I reckon they'd have a bit floating about.

EDIT - I guess it would also depend on what rep bonuses Holmes had. He may have signed it as a club winger, but he's played five origins and thirteen tests since then.

I vaguely recollect that Holmes got an upgrade to Fullback money prior to last season because he had a brief purple patch at the back.

Not necessarily, Fusitua wants to play centre long tem and Kearney also see's his future there, The Warriors are severely lacking decent centre options so I wouldn't be surprised to see them shift Fusitua and Rapana would be the perfect replacement for his right wing spot

If Rapana wasn't a favourite of mine I'd probably agree. But while Johnson is an upgrade on our halves he's still not in the elite 5 or 6 in the competition. He's only made the finals in a couple of seasons with quite talented squads around him.
