With Parra being interested I fear that we end up having Moses on our books.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

Warriors grant Johnson a release

Warriors CEO Cameron George today announced halfback Shaun Johnson has requested and been granted a release from the last year of his contract in 2019.

George said the release was effective immediately.

“Yesterday (head coach) Stephen Kearney, (recruitment manager) Peter O’Sullivan and I met with Shaun and his manager Peter Brown,” he said. “During the meeting Shaun clearly demonstrated to us that he didn’t want to be at the club in 2019.

Oh how I will laugh if johnson actually does sign here, funny thing is even if he doesnt come none of you can say **** because not once have I said he is coming. I remain hopeful (like a few others on here that actually have half a brain) that he will come and based on the fact we freed up 1.5-1.8 million from Paulo boyd and austin I have said he is a chance of coming which is more than fair.

But, if he does sign, holy **** all of your faces will be covered in egg and I will laugh and laugh and laugh.

Why would we get another player just as bog average as Sezer or Williams? People must have short memory of when Flanagan hooked him in the 2016 final against us at Bruce.

I am hoping against hope that this somehow actually happens.

Releasing Holmes though, the Sharks have a fair bit of coin to play with. I just hope Don has been smokescreening this.

my reasoning is because Raiders were allegedly going to sign Jacks, so Townsend is around that quality player, slightly better.
Chad has been linked to Raiders in the past (though all players get linked everywhere really)
Also SJ going to Sharks would cause excess halves.

cap wise I hope we are in a better position than that

It's now emerging that Widdop has asked the Dragons for an immediate release as well?

Gareth Widdop shocks Dragons with release request

St George Illawarra Dragons’ playmaker Gareth Widdop has shocked club officials after asking for an immediate release from the joint venture.

The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting the English international cited homesickness as the reason for wanting to leave the club despite having three years remaining on his $1 million-a-year contract.

I know the talk was of $800K plus for his next contract but surely he didn't sign for that much at the start of 2017. Anyone have a ballpark for what his current deal is worth?

Still can’t understand how Cronulla are able to get him. Seems like they are just as bad as the Roosters.

Holmes wouldn’t have been on big coin as this was his big payday being a winger up until halfway through last year.

Lewis retired, but they also bought Dugan, Moylan, Woods and B Morris since the start of last season ****!

We have we bought - two untested englishmen and more bog average second rowers you can poke a stick at. How the can we have no money when we lost THREE big name players probably all on close to 600k each... ?!?!?

I'm assuming that they've stashed some money from the retirement of Lewis, possibly towards his upgrade?

Add that to what he was already on and I reckon they'd have a bit floating about.

EDIT - I guess it would also depend on what rep bonuses Holmes had. He may have signed it as a club winger, but he's played five origins and thirteen tests since then.

The reports were that Gallen also took a significant cut for his extension. So probably moving from the highest paid player to in the 10 - 15 bracket.
