Off-contract: Brad Abbey, Luke Bateman, Setefano Hala, Ata Hingano, Liam Knight, Jordan Rapana, Sam Williams.

New Zealand Test winger Jordan Rapana will be Canberra’s priority signing, despite having a rocky 2018 campaign. Young Kiwi playmaker Ata Hingano finds himself on the back foot to secure a new deal after copping a six-month shoulder injury in pre-season, giving journeyman Sam Williams a chance to impress.

Last details for Makahesi Makatoa are that his contract ends 2018, no contract details for Royce Hunt. Unclear also for Paul Roache and Seb Kris. Believe Josh Saunders and Sitiveni Moceidreke are Mounties contracted.

You'd want to make sure you have Guler, Horsburgh, Kris and Hala signed up, if they're not already.

Happy not to re-sign Bateman, Abbey, Hingano and Roache. Happy to let Hunt and Makatoa go too. Sam Williams on third string half money. If any of those are re-signed it'd have to be on minimum contract dollars (Sam Williams aside).

I can’t see him making a regular first grader myself. He goes missing in games and is not holding down a regular position in junior grades.

Then again... I wasn’t concerned about losing Brent Kite either... and he proved me well and truly wrong.
