This looks like a team that’s worked on defence and needs only one trial to me...
typical of people on here to bash the team already on that, it was actually a great bat on and try, give some credit for crying out loud and sook about something worth while
Well for me I’m purely just looking at defence today as that is where we need to improve. I’m not that fussed on attack today and what we have seen so far is not FG standard.... Again!

He's a champion. From centre, to back row and now in the middle.

Well that's the type of decision making on the last tackle that will make Wighton a great #6

Jack Wighton is well and truly planted on that left edge. Would be nice to see our halves combine more

28th min Joe Tapine running very wide on the right in attack. Hodgson left with no option but to kick for touch on the last in the red zone. Soliola and Hunt are off. Guler and Bateman on, we believe.

Sezer throwing some nice service to Tapine- with BJ outside him that edge will be good.

Tapine is looking good in attack and I expect him to put on a bell ringer at some point the way his head seems to be screwed on today. Wish a few of the others would shift up a gear and join him.

Bateman gives penalty away. Still waiting for a first grade level performance.

30th min TRY BULLDOGS to Kerrod Holland, his second for the match. More poor defence from Canberra. Holland converts his own try from out wide.
Bulldogs 16-6

Every time he runs on, no matter what the game is he gives 120% all the time. Can’t speak highly enough of him

My impression so far:
Glad it's only a trial.

Simmonson has been brought in much too soon. He's still a work in progress.

We probably have to use that Rapana money quick. One injury and we have to play John Bateman at Center.

35th min TRY BULLDOGS to Reimis Smith off a Raiders error, he runs 80m to score under the posts. This has been a poor first half from. Canberra. The Bulldogs defence is easily handling the Raiders, while the Raiders are conceding far too much territory. Converted Nick Meaney.
Bulldogs 22-6

Nah, the club said we didn't yet. They were still deciding since Rapana could come back early.

Wighton throw that nobody ball in panic? Dogs are rushing him and he's not enjoying it.

So this is what an offseason of D looks like. 4 tries in first half to the Dogs so far.

Would have been nice to give him more than 1 trial at 5/8. Especially given he's not played since July.

Hodgson kicks ahead in the final seconds of the half, easily defused.

CNK needs to be taken off, getting way too involved for a trial.
Give him the #1 jersey and save him for R1.

Attack is very predictable. Ball goes to Sezer but he is rarely running at the line to create some doubt. It is either a crash ball or a wide ball. We are making it too easy for them. I hope Sticky will try Sam in the second half to give us another option in attack.
