I feel like this has come out of nowhere......
We all know Ricky’s result have been poor but to suggest another coach was coming here during this “coaches merry go round” I would have thought was total BS.

If he finishes with the spoon it'll be a decent chance as that's where we recruited a coach last time.

It sounds like overhead projectors are too high tech for the Sea Eagles. Blackboard and chalk!

Could think of plenty of other options I’d chase before barrett but at this point any sort of change is worth a shot

Of course, if this were true... and I seriously doubt it somehow... but it’d be classic Raiders to chase the coach in charge of the 12th placed team... while Michael Maguire is without a job!

Not a chance. Are people losing their minds? McIntyre and the others believe we have the best coach, he's not even being considered.

This is proof that people just make up stuff in NRL for a story.
We continue to **** about with blokes that are part of some fraternity. It's infuriating.

Bit harsh on Barrett. He over achieved last year, finished 6th, tipped by many as coach of the year. Labelled by phil gould as the next ‘super coach’.
All the while they were being investigated for match fixing, salary cap, etc.
This year they lost curtis sironen, lachlan croker, api korasau, for most of not all of the season.....jorge tafua, dylan walker for long periods....and obviously the whole jackson hastings drama where he was hung out to dry.......
He isnt as bad as some make him out to be.

Is that the Phil Gould who recruited Ivan Cleary, then sacked him because he was “tired”? Hired Anthony Griffin, sacked him when his team was running fifth weeks out from the finals? To re-recruit Ivan Cleary, who isn’t available?

Yeah they had no right to be 6th last year, but really, a sneaky 6th with an average roster doesn’t prove anything.
Hard to tell exactly what has caused Barrett to walk away now, but you could say he’s giving up, which is a bad sign if true.

He's not giving up, he's preserving his own future from any more association with a real trainwreck.

I still don't know what Manly are going to do for money without Lottoland either.

Ricky coached Trent at the Sharks and Trent also was his assistant when he was the NSW coach.

Trent Barrett not only has a worse defensive record this year, he had a worse defensive record than us last year. By all accounts a good bloke, but we need a defensive focused hard head if we want to be successful.
