Wests Tigers coach Ivan Cleary hopes to have Benji Marshall fit for Canberra Raiders next week
Wests Tigers’ coach Ivan Cleary is confident Benji Marshall’s injury is not serious, after he was forced from the field in the second half of his side’s 25-16 win over the Newcastle Knights.
Marshall left McDonald Jones Stadium in the 68th minute and sat on the sidelines for the remainder of the match with a large bag of ice strapped around his calf.

If Kris can't play I'd put Whitehead or Sia into centre and bring Guler or Murchie into the side.
I will be beyond pissed off if I have to see Austin or Paulo disgrace the jersey one more time. Enough is enough

It will be the exact team from the panthers game, if there is any difference lui will probably be dropped as some kind of scapegoat even though he was our best prop

I wouldn't be against playing Brett White instead of Paulo.

I thought williams was decent yesterday, good ball and kicked well, the only time i saw sezer was when he made the intercept and stopped after ten metres

You'd have to assume that Sezer is gone after that sniper on the grassy knoll got him yesterday.

Yeah he just lacks distance when he kicks. He has been like that for a long time. He frustrates me a bit when he kicks on the 3rd or 4th tackle from deep in our half as he hasn’t got the legs to kick it deep for that play

except when he's a 40/20 sniper, I think he can kick long just not high or with hangtime

The only way we can replace Sezer is to either move Hodgo to the halves, or play Austin in the 6. Neither are options I'm keen on.
I guess, if I had a real go at the side I'd name this week:
1-Cotric
2-Abbey
3-Whitehead
4-Leilua
5-Rapana
6-Williams
7-Hodgson (c)
8-Knight
9-Havili
10-Lui
11-Tapine
12-Murchie
13-Papalli
14-Soliola
15-Guler
16-Bateman
17-Hunt
Supercoach will definitely name Boyd, Paulo and Austin though. He'll probably pull Sezer out of his hospital bed again even though yesterday showed beyond doubt what a terrible, horrible, no-good idea that is.

Problem is his defense isn't near NRL level. Maybe once Austin and Paulo are gone it will be easier to carry him defensively, but at the moment it costs us games having them all out there.

Come on lads..
It'll be the exact team from yesterday's debacle and the refs fault again when we lose.
Clockwork..

Sezer got 2 intercepts defending our line. Also the Cronk-like cross field kick for BJ's 2nd try. He was clearly short of a gallop but him and Williams were both solid.

No easy way to fix Canberra Raiders says former captain Alan Tongue
Former Canberra Raiders captain Alan Tongue says there's no easy fix to the multiple factors behind the Green Machine's inability to defend a lead, with a combination of physical and mental compounding each other under pressure. On Sunday it was the fifth time this season they've led by 10 points or more only to go on to lose and the second time it's happened against Penrith.
"There's a number of factors in it. I woudn't be able to put it down to one. There's a number of things and it's no easy fix."

Stop the NRL Bunker from looking forward
Leave forward passes out of the NRL Bunker. That's former Canberra Raiders captain Alan Tongue's opinion after the issue was once again thrown into the spotlight.

Tonguey is right that there’s no easy fix. So why do we persist with the coach who’s proven that he’s not capable of fixing things?

80% of sustained results come down to squad quality imo. We just persist with some who are lacking the basics for the NRL. All the other fixes are not going to make a huge difference, except for fixing the people that build the squad.

Because we are the Raiders......

I love Tonguey, but he seems to say a lot without actually giving us any insight or analysis. Surely he can see what the problems are... the fans can. I guess he's just too nice to say in case he offends anyone.

Williams defence is better than Austin and Moloney. It's basically middle of the road NRL half defence imo.

I’m going to this game. Prepared to throw on a jersey as i’m pretty sure I can defend better than both Austin and Paulo.
