If you can mentally release yourself from the torture of calculating how many wins this rabble need to make the 8, and come to the realisation that it just won't happen, you can go back to enjoying your life again.

I feel the same way. Folks, move on with your holiday plans. We ain't playing in the finals.Peter wrote:If you can mentally release yourself from the torture of calculating how many wins this rabble need to make the 8, and come to the realisation that it just won't happen, you can go back to enjoying your life again.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.
Re: 2018 Rd 15 V Tigers: Teams and Previews
It’s not hard to work out though. We need 13 wins to make sure of the top eight. The cut off could conceivably be 12. We have five wins. That means they need eight to be sure, seven is a maybe.

Re: 2018 Rd 15 V Tigers: Teams and Previews
This rabble of mental midgets don't deserve to be in the finals.
Re: 2018 Rd 15 V Tigers: Teams and Previews
So is making the finals and being cannon fodder in week 1 going to feel like we achieved something this year?
Or do you genuinely believe the team could be a force come September? If so, get yourself checked out or lay off the grass.

The Raiders have named their team for the round 15 match against the Wests Tigers at Campbelltown Stadium.
The Raiders receive a huge boost for the match, with England International Josh Hodgson set to make a return from a knee injury.
This will be Hodgson's first game of the season for the Green Machine after injuring his knee during the Rugby League World Cup at the end of last year.
The inclusion of Hodgson sees Siliva Havili shift to the interchange bench, while Ata Hingano drops out of the 21-man squad.
Joe Tapine is also set to return after two weeks out through suspension, which sees a reshuffle to the forward pack, with Josh Papalii moving back into the middle of the field at lock and Sia Soliola to starting front row.
Dunamis Lui shifts back to the interchange bench alongside Havili, Luke Bateman and Liam Knight.
Michael Oldfield comes into the side for the second time this season, with Jordan Rapana set to miss 8-10 weeks with a hamstring injury.

Wests Tigers unfazed by Canberra Raiders NRL horror run
It's the horror record the Wests Tigers must overcome to keep pace with the fight for the NRL's top eight. In their past three games against Canberra, the Tigers have conceded 158 points and scored just 22.
“They've definitely had the wood over us the last couple of years,” veteran Chris Lawrence admitted. “[But] we've got a completely different roster. A lot of new players and we've built the first half of our year based off our defence.”

Woo-hoo! Letting Hodgson come back against the Tigers is a way better proposition than having him do so against the Broncos.
Even better, Hingano dropped altogether. It's enough to make a man buy a lotto ticket of some sort.
Some people talk about the weather. Others do something about it.

Our rehab team, doctor, training staff, CEO, ballboys, gear stewards and the girls working the canteen better be certain 100% that Hodgo is ready to go or there'll be trouble..

I'm not sold on Hodgo straight in. I'd prefer Havili start and Hodgo come on late in each half for some match fitness.
If he comes in underdone for the first whistle and bangs his **** up again, I will be furious.

Besides junior Paulo and rapana, this has to be one of the strongest line ups we’ve been able to field this year, hopefully Hodgson is ready and if not Ricky eases him in.

I’m going on record as this is another daft idea.
I hope I’m wrong, and he plays well and most importantly doesn’t reinjure himself. But this seems unnecessarily fast for a season that is already on it’s death bed.

Garvey is still on the extended bench, and we could get a Smokescreen™ in regards to Hodgo starting. I just don't want to get him reinjured but I also would love for us to start our 14 game winning streak now too....

He will be pretty much on 6 months since the surgery which is the absolute minimum you need (he had surgery in early Dec last year). The general window is 6-9 months depending on how you go with the physio and meeting goals. Not sure this is a great idea, I would have given him another month regardless of how well he is travelling. He is too important.

With Hodgo there I'll just be happy if we don't pick up any injuries. Please don't be campo 2.0.
Re: 2018 Rd 15 V Tigers: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
I have no doubt that Hodgson would be ready, he would have absolutely went above and beyond on his rehab, even for a professional sportsman.

I don't think anyone doubts Hodgson's commitment but sometimes you just need time for a recovery no matter how big a He-Man you are.
Re: 2018 Rd 15 V Tigers: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
You can go above and beyond all you want but anyone that has ever played sport at a decent level knows there is no fitness like match fitness. If he comes in under done like he is, it increases the chances of recurring injury or even worse, a different injury due to compensation for the current.CJ42 wrote:I have no doubt that Hodgson would be ready, he would have absolutely went above and beyond on his rehab, even for a professional sportsman.
It happens all the time. Mounties would have been the best intro this week and next even during the bye week. Then come in ready.
It reeks of panic stations.
