Re: 2018 Rd 11 V Dragons: Teams and Previews
Personally I would drop 4 or 5 and bring in some rookies just to make a statement that last rounds performance is unacceptable. Abbey,Oldfield,Knight,Garvey, Murchie, give them a run. I dont care if we get flogged by a gazillion points, our year is gone already. The newbies might kill it or might suck and never have much of a 1st grade career, but that doesnt matter. Its all about delivering the under peforming top graders a clear message of accounability.

There's a reason no coach has ever done this. It is a terrible idea.magoo wrote: ↑May 15, 2018, 12:59 pm Personally I would drop 4 or 5 and bring in some rookies just to make a statement that last rounds performance is unacceptable. Before the Sharks we had won 4 of last 5. Sticky won't be making any changes other than those forced by injury.

Use your brain - he isn't going to be dropped after one bad performance, especially when we are already battling injuries in the halves.Sydney_Raider wrote: ↑May 15, 2018, 4:07 pm Congrats Aiden, fitting reward for an outstanding effort last week.

Just noticed we are back to 4 halves in the squad this week... I wonder if there all doing halves training or maybe Ricky is planning to train them as forwards this week...

using my brain, I am not sure aiden offers us more chance of getting 2 point than sam williams, and I am sam williams' biggest critic.Raider Azz wrote: ↑May 15, 2018, 4:13 pmUse your brain - he isn't going to be dropped after one bad performance, especially when we are already battling injuries in the halves.Sydney_Raider wrote: ↑May 15, 2018, 4:07 pm Congrats Aiden, fitting reward for an outstanding effort last week.

As expected no changes Austin names with S Williams on standby. Stuart simply refuses to drop players and give any Mounties a go.
Raiders play away at the Dragons and OMG we will be spanked 'again'. Stuart seems to think if he keeps putting out the same team each
week things will change.

Go and have a look at some of his efforts in other games this year. You can start with some of his attacking kicks the week before against the Titans. One or two good games in 10 doesn't cut it.Raider Azz wrote: ↑May 15, 2018, 4:13 pmUse your brain - he isn't going to be dropped after one bad performance, especially when we are already battling injuries in the halveSydney_Raider wrote: ↑May 15, 2018, 4:07 pm Congrats Aiden, fitting reward for an outstanding effort last week.

He must really think that way. Keep the team that can beat bottom 8 teams! 10th position at the end of the season must be Ricky’s goal.InFernos_Raiders wrote:As expected no changes Austin names with S Williams on standby. Stuart simply refuses to drop players and give any Mounties a go.

His end of year speech will be. “We did the best we could have done this year. We had a lot of players off contract and it really disrupted our team. The NRL needs to do something about it... Next year is looking much better. We have a a big pre-season planned”

It's a simple game; tackle, back-up, pass, hold the ball! What did I say? "Hold the bloody ball!!"

Williams back, Austin named as Canberra Raiders prepare for Dragons task
The Canberra Raiders have recalled halfback Sam Williams to the game-day squad as the Green Machine sweat on Blake Austin's availability to play on Sunday.
Austin has been named at five-eighth to play against the St George Illawarra Dragons in Mudgee despite injuring his ankle last weekend, with Williams joining an extended bench for the first time since April 5.

Canberra Raiders prop Charlie Gubb feared NRL season was over after injury
Canberra Raiders prop Charlie Gubb feared his season was over when medical staff told him he had torn the tendon off the bone in his groin in his Green Machine debut.
"When we got the scan, they said it was a good thing that it tore right off because that's what they do in surgery. It made the comeback a bit easier than if I'd half torn it ... there are worse people off than you if you're complaining about injury."
