Fergus, can you tweet Tim and ask him to ask Furner how to open this jar of hot salsa?

It does. But I'm still not sure what to do with the jar.

Ricky Stuart interview:

I was impressed with the 80 minute effort, it cost us in the first three rounds not playing for the full 80. And against the Cowboys, the team played for the full 80.

Joe Tapine, made over 50 tackles, Josh Papalii made a lot of metres in the middle, been a good help to the team. Whitehead and Tapine international players and playing well.

Shift from attack to defence? The two things I've found over the past couple of years is the transition from attack mode to defence. We had to do too much defence due to our completion rate. We've focussed on defence and unforced errors. Focus is on continuity of play.

Siliva Havili. He's learning how to be an NRL player. He's produced 70 minute games, and 40-50 minute games, depending on the opposition. The combination with Ata Hingano is working very well.

Bryce Cartwright. Strong attacking player, we'll have to watch him, they can score tries, the Titans and they showed us that in the second half of Round 1. We'll need a tough defensive display.

Contract dramas? I'm proud of how the players have handled the situation and the uncertainty. All the boys have said they want to stay, it's just the big money on offer elsewhere. It can be a distraction, but it hasn't been for us.

With the money some of the players have been offered, we can't keep them all. It's important for us that players want to play for us, not just for the money on offer as well.

Don Furner interview:

Development application. We've applied for grants to the ACT and NSW governments. We have to show them we'll be shovel ready. We thought we had Federal government money a couple of years ago, but missed out. Its a process we have to go through.

We want to be in the city, but we want everything under one roof, in terms of all the things we need to do... in terms of growing the women's game, giving kids in this region that kids in Sydney get, tackle and tag. We don't want to see kids have to go to Sydney in this region to get to train at high performance facilities.

It will be three times as big as what we have at Bruce, it will be two stories, and everything the Canberra District Rugby League does will be under one roof.

Contract process. The way it works in the NRL it is ongoing. In some cases it is a Mexican standoff. We don't have a particular time frame on it. It's constant. We're constantly working on the roster and it is constantly moving.

Sounds like they're resigned to losing some players

I hate the thought that we will lose players. It implies we aren't in control. How about we are moving players on cause they haven't delivered value having regard for what they're being paid.

Why do we have to tell the NSW government anything if they are going to build in Civic?

NSW will put in money as long as we take kids from the Riverena, Monaro, Goulburn and South Coast areas, so the kids aren’t moved to Sydney too early in their lives.

Ill be **** if i can figure how playing a ball running 5/8th as a middle defender who's being exposed because he's played out of position is "working very well"

Hingano either needs to play 5/8th or not at all. Garvey would be a much better use of #14 role
Id like to see Hingano, Sezer, Havili and Garvey in the side and start to assess if Hingano can be a Blake Austin replacement,.
