Yep, I’d be happy for them to continue shoving it in our faces for the rest of the season.Raiders666 wrote:2 points off 5th spot...I hope they shove it right in our faces!!!
Full credit to Stuart and the boys for the way they’ve turned it around mentally the last two weeks. Really dug in and won two games they could’ve easily lost the first four weeks. Just a shame it’s taken this long, but at least we’ve got there. More of the same next week, please lads.
Same 17 that beat the eels.

Croker and Cotric need to swap positions. Cotric just getting no ball and wasted on the wing

To be fair, Joey Leilua and Jordy Raps got a lot less ball this week than last week too... for whatever reasonIlanraiders wrote:Croker and Cotric need to swap positions. Cotric just getting no ball and wasted on the wing

I am concerned for the Rabbitohs game if we leave Hingano as back up hooker this week. His defence against a big Rabbitohs pack will be a huge opposition target if we select him to defend in the middle again. He is first grade standard but not as a hooker in defence.
I think I'd go 4 big boppers on the bench this game.

Our whole pack has been outstanding this last 2 weeks.. Really been impressed with Sia after many wrote him off after last yr. Also Tapine needs to be signed for life! He is quickly becoming my favourite player

The only change I would make would be Garvey for Hingano.
A much bigger challenge this week against a fresh Sam Burgess and an in form forward pack. But the real worry is Damien Cook. We have been lazy and vulnerable at marker for a decade and he will expose us badly.

Hands up as one of those who thought Sia had played one year too long. But gee he's killing it at prop this year.Raiders666 wrote: ↑April 15, 2018, 9:33 am Our whole pack has been outstanding this last 2 weeks.. What I loved about Tapine's game last night was he just charged hard with the ball. he knew it wasn't the kind of night for his stopping and propping and fending so he just ran hard and straight. Got his shoulder into a lot of tackles too- real hard edge to his game this year.

It's almost like Tapine had finally realised how big he is.

He's a fantastic player.
His defence is bone crunching and he bends the line with ball in hand.
Did I mention the defence..wow !!!!!

Don’t get me wrong, Austin had his best game in a long time (particularly in defence). He still needs to learn to pass more and dummy less. I get frustrated watching him, I can only imagine how his outside men feel.

Canberra Raiders Josh Papalii not on edge about playing middle
Middle or edge, it doesn't matter to Josh Papalii. He just wants to be wearing lime green.
"Whatever. It doesn't bother me, as long as I'm wearing a green jersey it doesn't faze me at all," Papalii said.v"After the game last week I saw the effort that the middle put in. Obviously me coming in and leaving Knighty out was pretty tough on him. I didn't want to let the boys down and it was just the way the game panned out.

Joe Tapine charged for trip... but an early guilty plea will see him pay a $1100 fine.

I was very skeptical about Soliola going into this year, I thought it should have been his last
Since he got moved into the middle he has been sensational, I'm a big fan of the 1 big 1 mobile prop rotation we have going atm

Re: 2018 Rd 7 V Rabbitohs: Teams and Previews
Rabbits forward pack are doing a tremendous job. Burgess twins actually back to 2014 form. Sam Burgess back this week, and Angus Crichton still playing well but under the radar.. Cook just carving up behind them.
This is easily the best team we have played this season. They are in form, full of confidence, and full strength.
I don't think we are at the same level as the Rabbits at this stage of the season. So if we play to our best it will be a close game. Good test.
I'll be looking to see if our middle can still work as hard as they have been in defence during the last 2 weeks, pushing across both sides of the field to help the edges. But the real key will be to see that we don't have 1 or 2 players being left on the ground when the ball is played, something we have been poor at for the last couple of years. Cook will carve up if so.
If i'm critical of anything in the Eels game, i don't think our game management was all that great for the last 30min. We seemed to get a bit loose there. So i'll also like to see if Sezer can continue his form and direction for the full 80.

I'd be tempted to start with 2 bigs and 1 on the bench instead of 1 big and 2 on the bench. Tell Boyd he's got 15mins to just kill someone then bring him back on just before the break.
