afgtnk wrote: April 7, 2018, 11:54 pm There's definitely no doubt all blame will be on Austin if Sezer is unable to back up the game he had against the Dogs. Given the number of excellent games he's had in green can be counted on one hand, I find the chances of that occurring pretty high.

Regardless of who he plays with, he controls his own performance. The fact that some else gets touches shouldn't take away from judging him when he has his.

When he's putting useless chip bombs straight down the throat of the fullback game after game, or failing to identify a yawning gap on his inside, or failing to kick field goals, or failing to force repeat sets, that isn't on Austin or any other player - that's him.

And despite constantly slagging him, I do hope that he's able to finally back up this seemingly constant talk he has of taking control of the team, because we badly need someone to. He and Croker in particular are to an extent protected species on here - we need both need to step up to the mark.

This.

People are laughing at you pal, give it a rest

I genuinely laughed when you couldnt see Sezer as MOM, he was a stand out.

It's a pretty short list of people on here now who weren't ok with Sezer getting dumped at some point.

Sorry but he looked pretty happy in the photo I have of him. Now this week making up lies about him not sticking around for 1st grade at Brookie is a down and out lie. He came out after his game and sat near the hill with his family for the whole game. Seriously cant stand supporters like you who want to defame someone who has always gone above and beyond for the fans.

It's a pretty short list of people on here that aren't hypocrites that's for sure. We got thumped a week ago, very embarrassingly, and now one week on after a win against a pretty poor bulldogs side that really didn't put up much of a challenge, all is forgotten.

No..

Boyd and Paulo need to be split
Are you crazy ? This Wighton at half has been done before and it was a huge fail, why take a step backwards. It's either Sezer with Austin/Hingano with Williams gone for over a month. IF Wighton can play put him in the centers with Croker on the wing. Cotric needs more fitness and exp at FB give him time.
Jack is 4 years older now with significantly more FG experience. It's not the same player that we are putting at 6. The majority of the forum has been saying that Sezer played close to his best game for us due to being given control of the team against the Bulldogs. With Jack at 6 and Cotric at 1 we can deploy Sezer on both sides of the ruck with a two fullback attack with Jack on his preferred left and Cotric on his preferred right. Plus our left edge defence now has Whitehead and Wighton inside Croker which will provide our outside backs with significantly more confidence.

People can disagree but I think with our roster as currently constructed this gives us our best chance of making a Finals push this season. In an ideal world we'd have another half to put next to Sezer but for mine Williams has been fair, Hingano looks best suited to a back up role on the bench and Austin is clearly on the outer.
I reckon you make a really good case Wiki Special, it's well articulated. I''m not against the Jack idea, I want him out of fullback ASAP.

I for one have been calling for Boyd and Paulo to be split up, but i'm not a firm on that as I once was because Lui is going well, and I also think bringing an angry Papalli back in to play in the middle and earn his spot back will keep the momentum going. Only other way to do it would be to start Lui with Paulo and then Boyd and Papa come on and maintain the rage.
We continue to **** about with blokes that are part of some fraternity. It's infuriating.

Woodgers - I've been the same regarding Paulo and Boyd. Originally wanted them split but right now would rather start them with Sia at lock. Lui and Papalii would be our impact forwards from the bench and Bateman our 20-30 minute worker off the bench. Knight as next cab off the rank and Gubb as an emergency option only. Not a big Gubb fan but don't mind as a last resort option.

I’m with you with your comments, probably like to see knight in over Bateman. It’s time to start bringing knight on to become a first grader

This won’t happen... however

1- Cotric
2- Croker
3- Wighton
4 - BJ
5 - Rapana
6 - Austin
7 - Sezer
8 - Soliola
9 - Havili
10 - Paulo/Boyd
11 - Tapine
12 - Whitehead
13 - Bateman

14 - Hingano
15 - Paulo / Boyd
16 - Lui ( most improved player this yr )
20 - Papalii ( knight named 17 but misses out ) #smokescreen

If we show up with the same effort as last week we will flog these muppets.
I don’t care if Hayne and French are back, if we play to our potential then we will win !!!

Parra had a good chance to beat Penrith and blew it. They're going to turn up here with the desperation we used last week. This will be a big test for us.

I cannot believe that Wighton will be playing a few days after his court appearance. His head wouldn't be in the game unless he's been immmediately exonerated.

So:

1- Cotric
2- Oldfield (if he's cleared to play)
3- Croker (even though he should be on the wing)
4 - BJ
5 - Rapana
6 - Austin (being a last minute withdrawal from Mounties makes this a certainty)
7 - Sezer
8 - Soliola
9 - Havili
10 - Paulo
11 - Tapine
12 - Whitehead
13 - Bateman

14 - Garvey (if he's passed as being fit)
15 - Boyd
16 - Lui
17 - Knight
Some people talk about the weather. Others do something about it.

MEMBER NO.: 4500 (before they changed the numbering system).

Depending on Jack's availability, I'll have one of these Victor. I think the Sia/Paulo starting props combo is working. We then have impact off the bench with Boyd/Lui. I would not return to Paulo/Boyd. The Dogs were not able to exploit when we had those two on the park due to Mbye being taken from the field. If both are on the field then the sides with some fast steppers and reverse angle runners will exploit their lateral mobility issues. What we had last week worked. Unless we are forced to change, I'd stick with it.

Round 6 NRL teams: Raiders star earns reprieve, Eels timely boost

Early mail: The medial ligament injury to Sam Williams opens the door for a return to Canberra’s NRL squad for five-eighth Blake Austin. Aidan Sezer, Luke Bateman, Ata Hingano and Michael Oldfield will all be assessed during the week after suffering concussions in the win over Canterbury. Jack Wighton is set to be named after missing last week for the birth of his second child. Parramatta will be sweating on the fitness of Bevan French and Kane Evans as they search for their first win of the year. Nathan Brown’s ankle injury will also be monitored.

Yes. I hope this helps.
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Raiders v Eels: The Contenders

With the Raiders claiming their first victory against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs on Thursday night they now face a challenging prospect of backing up that performance against a desperate Eels side who will be fired up to grab their first win of 2018.

The win over the boys from Belmore comes at a cost for the green machine as they lost several players to injury during the clash. Ata Hingano, Michael Oldfield, Sam Williams, Aidan Sezer and Luke Bateman all sustained knocks on Thursday night.

Anyone remember when we where up by like 30-40 with 15 to go and Parra just shifted the ball out wide to our left edge and almost ran us down. Only for a lucky intercept late in the game to give us an unlikely win, which would have went the other way otherwise.

NRL: Canberra Raiders half Aidan Sezer refusing to let contracts play on his mind

Off-contract Canberra Raiders five-eighth Aidan Sezer is refusing to let an uncertain future play on his mind and says he isn't feeling the pressure of playing for his future.

"No, not really. We’re players and we leave those kinds of things up to our managers," Sezer said. "We’ll see how we go, we just need to play some positive footy and get a few wins on the board for the club. I think all that stuff will take care of itself.
