Home ground, someone blowing the horn,Viking clap, female mascot.
How could the boys not be pumped for that...
has anyone noticed we have been horrible since that horn was introduced, and the Viking Clap is getting embarrassing now
It is embarrassing. It's great when you're winning and in the finals. They should never have made it a regular round robin thing.

Unless there is 20,000 at the stadium there is no point doing it.

Pure ridiculous when you have a stadium 60% empty and attempting it.

Our forwards are fat, lazy and ill disciplined (Boyd has been OK I guess), and BJ is not far behind.

* there is something going on inside the club with these players, even if rumors are squashed I still think Austin/sezer will not be with Raiders in 2019, I think Croker is having problems with Stuart, Leilua is not intrested and is just collecting paychecks, he might leave aswell and might lure Rapana too.

dogs are likely to be without Moses Mbye who usually destroys raiders, dogs are playing soo bad too, even as bad as we played against manly (which will be a good kick in the butt) I am sure Raiders will win this game, I mean cmon..........round 5 and the season is on the line.
I agree with what you wrote, but I would still make the following changes:

1. Abbey - deserves a shot based on what he's been doing at Mounties. Apart from that, we swapped Clay Priest for him. Let's get some value out of the deal.
2. Cotric
3. Croker - he won't get dropped no matter how **** his defence is or how often he refuses to pass.
4. Wighton - won't get dropped and his defence is much more suited to centres.
5. Rapana
6. Bambling - deserves a shot based on what he's been doing at Mounties and way better than Hingano.
7. Sezar
8. Knight
9. Havilii - should come off the bench when Hodgson returns.
10. Boyd
11. Lui
12. Tapine
13. Whitehead

14. Garvey - enough with the three halves experiment. It's a BS failure.
15. Bateman - Stuart likes him for some reason.
16. Paulo - actually showed some enthusiasm against Manly.
17. Soliola - for some reason he keeps being called the Soul of the Raiders, but he has just about reached his use by date. He won't be dropped from the side, though. Bench at best, IMHO, and retired at the end of the season.

18. Papalii - slow and looks unfit. Showed very little urgency. He can leave at the end of the season.
19. Austin - dangle him a carrot. He needs more time at Mounties to iron out the errors in his game.
20. Murchie
21. Does it really matter? Okay, well then, Hunt if he's fit.

I too like some points you made, love the hodgson/havilii interchange, that is gonna be killer, would love to see abby come in but maybe not in the state the team is in, if the team is flat whats the point, the team will only bring him down, I honestly dont know how Bambling is doing, you guys keep throwing his name in team lists then some say he aint ready. lets face it people, we are the NEW newcatle knights, 2019 will be a rebuilding year and 2021 we will have the team we want........

I'm with everyone else I want to see Garvey come in.

Williams drops out and as much as I want to see Hingano in the halves I think Blake deserves his chance.

Papalii needs to be drop to the bench and bring in Lui to start.

Rapana and BJ need a stern talking to regarding their discipline.

Other than that I'd bring Cotric one in for defence with either Croker or Austin shifting to the wing.

What has Austin done to deserve his chance?

Austin was dropped for a reason and it wouldn't be doing him or the club any good to recall him after a luke warm performance in reserve grade.

Look he doesn't deserve a chance, I watched Hingano in reserves and he didn't offer much so I guess he's the best from a bad bunch.

At the end of the day he made the break with 5 to go against the Warriors which should have sealed the game, only for Soliola to have a brain explosion and pass to no one.

He needs to fix up his defence and that can be done out on the wing.

Stuart should have started the season with Sezer/Austin, hopefully he gets it right and has Garvey off the bench as he's asking to be picked.

Bad choice of words however atm I'd like to see Austin/Sezer, Havili/Garvey.

He'd be done long ago in any well run club but this is the Raiders where coaches (particularly if ex-players) are given massive leeway.
It's a simple game; tackle, back-up, pass, hold the ball! What did I say? "Hold the bloody ball!!"

I am already so deflated with this season and it’s only round 5. It already had that Rd 23, season over, nothing to play for feeling.

It’s even worse than that though, because this is the finished product. Stuart is in the 5th year of a rebuild. It is completely his team. The bulk of these guys are in their prime. And we are 0-4 after failing dismally last year..

It would be utter madness to give Stuart another rebuild mandate. This is it. Surely You can count on 1, maybe 2 hands the weeks he has to turn it around.

As for this week, another infuriating loss is on the cards.

I don't think it's confirmed that Guler isn't. We don't know who players 29 and 30 are and Guler seemed a likely candidate.

The CEO and Board will not dump their golden boy Stuart and with so many of our top players off contract at seasons end it’ll be a case where players will leave the club because they don’t want to play for him. Also I like th guy but Croker isn’t captain material we need a leader who will rip into his players, Hodgson 1st or 2nd Whitehead. Stuart is totally lost he has no idea what to do.

I'd like to see Matt's Match Ups before declaring that one.
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Raiders fans should simply refuse to do "the viking clap" until the team is fair dinkum.

Wighton has to be the dumbest footballer on the planet. Shouldn't be fullback. I'd be surprised if he is there by the end of the year.
Cotric has too much talent and needs more of the ball. Put him at fullback.

Put Leilua on the bench as a forward.
Dump Sezer to Canterbury and mark his cards never to play football here again.

Soliolo is the oldest bloke on earth. He must go.

The rest of our forwards, apart from Paulo and Boyd, are pathetic.

We don't have the talent. The club seems like it only exists to make money in it's other interests.

Ricky has the team he wanted. Now he needs to admit he was wrong and replace the players - or give it away.

He might stay as coach for a while, but if they can't respond with a big effort, he's done.
He'd be done long ago in any well run club but this is the Raiders where coaches (particularly if ex-players) are given massive leeway.
Raiders CEO and Board won’t sack their golden boy Stuart. Dan Furner must go along with Stuart.
We have become the joke of the NRL ‘again’....

The bottom line is Stuart just can not take this team to the next level, he just has no idea what to do.
Stuart’s team selection, bench management and our defensive structure is appalling.
Simply put it proves Stuart ca not coach the players don’t play for him, the club or our captain Croker. I like Croker but not as captain should put Hodgson as captain. Sheesh Stuart won’t even change Wighton from FB because he is stubborn as.

Like Stuart is with Wighton at FB he won’t dump Williams either because he is stubborn.
It was a stupid idea to sign Williams anyway.

Why would he drop Williams just to replace him with Austin. Austin deserved to be dropped and until such time as he earns a recall Ricky has to to tough it out with whoever he has got.

Personally, I am on board with Hingano and Sezer in the halves but that means Garvey into the bench and Ricky clearly doesn't think he is ready.

Queensland coach Kevin Walters backs Ricky Stuart to turn Canberra Raiders' NRL season around

Queensland coach Kevin Walters has backed Ricky Stuart to turn the faltering Canberra Raiders' dismal start to the NRL season around.

"He's got a lot of respect down there Ricky with what he's done with that team and a couple of losses isn't going to make people change their minds in any way of what sort of coach that Ricky is," Walters said. "Once the Raiders find one win they can find two or three, they're that kind of side with the quality that they've got."
