Re: Sack Ricky
Thanks. Shows there have been a couple of outlier, really poor years. 1982 and 2011. But some others not too far off.
But it also shows there has been a long term decline in performance... and no decade is worse than the current one.

So what you're telling me is this is currently equal with our worst 5 year stretch, when the club was just starting

Who knew Graham Rogers is our greatest ever coach with a 100% win record.PerthRaider86 wrote: ↑August 17, 2018, 4:38 pm

Re: Sack Ricky
2014-2018 is pretty similar to 2011-2015 and 2001-2005 as well. There’s a few bad patches there.
Re: Sack Ricky
Put another way... the past decade is certainly the worst period in Raiders history.
Re: Sack Ricky
Lazo rang up and sprayed Piggy Riddell for his comments, saying he was doing a good job and it was the players fault they make bad decisions

You can't carry on about players being accountable when the one person who is in a position to hold them accountable does absolutely nothing about it.

After watching the sea eagles blow a sizable half time lead last night I'm almost certain Barrett will be coming to Canberra next year
Re: Sack Ricky
Elliott used the excuse of not having the 'cattle'. Sticky has the players he wants and the result is ... a poorly performing FG coach.Green eyed Mick wrote: ↑August 17, 2018, 6:11 pmSticky on the same trajectory of Elliot. Re: Sack Ricky
If there is any tiny consolation, I guess that if anyone was "undroppable" it was the nappy prodigy himself Dave Furner. Not only did he have his nappy changer as the Chairman, but his freakin brother was the CEO.
If he can get sacked, then Ricky sure as hell can.
Less consoling is the fact that the Destroyer of Clubs™ can do untold damage until that time comes.

Re: Sack Ricky
The thing that gets me with Sticky’s squad, compared to Furner, Henry and Elliott, is that I feel the hope is gone.
Under the other coaches, we had some shocking results, but they kept me watching. We could lose to the wooden spooners one week, then absolutely belt the premiership favourites the next week.
This team is just plain bad, when they shouldn’t be

Re: Sack Ricky
So you blame Ricky for Austin making that kick today??
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Re: Sack Ricky
Dubby, that's not an isolated play, the team routinely makes ridiculous plays like that, it's every week...
Either Stuart is fine with it, or he's not able to successfully reach them as a coacha and get them to play smarter. Either way, yeah, its on him.

Havili/Elliott off the kick off. Blame Ricky.

Re: Sack Ricky
I feel positive about 2019. I'm probably mad, but i see a pattern in the Stuart era.
2014: Complete disaster
2015: A year full of close losses and what ifs
2016: Amazing
2017: Complete disaster
2018: A year full of close losses and what ifs
2019: TBA
Based on this rock solid theory, Stick should guide us to a premiership next year. As soon as the trophy has been lifted he sould be sacked immediately.

Re: Sack Ricky
Haha you're comparing a knock, a run of the mill error on with an instance of poor decision making? Honestly. **** sake Dubby! Haha
Austin's kick was not a one off error, it was a man who has a history of poor decision making on the football field, making yet another catastrophic decision and costing his team dearly.
Either Stuart doesnt coach him up on his decision making, or he does and it's just not effective, or he does and it's not effective and he's not willing to do a **** thing about.
Either way, that's on the coach.
