Yeah a lot of the FB fans are delusional in their blind support of the club. I prefer to surround myself with the opinions of fellow negos on the GH.

Raiders players defend coach Ricky Stuart: https://wwos.nine.com.au/2018/08/16/10/ ... cky-stuart
"Ricky's been dealt a few tough cards during the year injury-wise and what he's done for the team and decisions he's made, I don't think anyone could've done any better," Bateman said.
Stop the presses everyone. Stuart has the support of influential powerbroker Luke Bateman.
Wonder if that has anything to do with the fact Bateman is highly dispensible, on a soon-to-be expired contract, and at best a fringe bench player?
Also, yes, plenty of people could have done a lot better. Its not some radical idea to be able to link our disastrous fadeouts with Ricky's decisions to refuse to play 17 v 17 and leave players on the bench all game.

Re: Sack Ricky
I laugh at the excuses re injuries. The panthers lost their starting 9 (who since retired), 1 and 7 for about half the year and then punt their coach after slipping off the top off the ladder.. The sharks have had an incredible run injury wise also... People also fail to recognise that we basically had no injuries at all last year. So what happened there!?!?
Re: Sack Ricky
Injuries is a rubbish excuse since we have just carried over 2017 form and are going to lose 7 straight with Hodgo in the side anyway.

Re: Sack Ricky
They have both the NSW 6 and 7 and I don’t think they have lost both for a long period of time. They have either one or the other playing. Plus their back ups are better than our starting halves.FROG wrote:I laugh at the excuses re injuries. Cronulla have the luxury of buying some players who can win you a match, Moylan and Dugan. They also have a winger who is trying to get a contact as a Fullback.
Last year Ricky admitted he went soft on them after 2016 and there was internal fighting. Should of got rid of Blake last year. He is half the problem both performance wise and culture wise. He even had a go at Cotric just before half time when people should be having a go at him

I have said that I would welcome a new coach, the players look like they could do with a new voice but as long as Stick is there I’ll support him and I hope his desire and passion for this club will help turn it around.gergreg wrote:I thought you had said that Ricky should go but you continue to make excuses for him????Brew wrote: ↑August 16, 2018, 1:09 pmTrue but you could argue we would of won our first 3 with him in the side.edwahu wrote:Injuries is a rubbish excuse since we have just carried over 2017 form and are going to lose 7 straight with Hodgo in the side anyway.

But If a new coach came in then it would be a fresh start which wouldn’t be a bad thing.
The fact is the Raiders aren’t going to pay out 2 years of his contract so this tread will go on all summer but it’s just a waste of time.

If I underperformed in my job for a year I'd be sacked, even if I assured my boss that I knew how to fix my underperformace. Let alone underperforming for 2 years.
After last year Ricky should have lost his free pass and the entitlement to "fix" things. Obviously you met him once and he was a nice bloke and it is clouding your judgement.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

Should change out song to the tune of the tigers song
We finished 10th again... lots of whinging finished 10th again.
We just had no luck, the refs really suck. But never mind, ahead we'll grind and really come unstuck
Oh we finished 10th again, we'll be ahead until the final siren's gone
Like the raiders of old, it's wet and it's cold
Oh we finished 10th ah for... **** christ, we finished 10th again..
