The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

I think we are a legit spoon winner.

We Are awful defenders.
We can't close out games.
We have the worst spine in the comp.

I could go on.

Please... Did you watch the other games this year?

Eels are dead set favourites for me right now, followed by the Sharks... They both look like CRAP with not even a spark of something good! At least we look like a **** that's been rolled in glitter....

Bulldogs and Rabbits also deserve a shot... We are at least two teams out of the spoon, not going to make the finals either unless we sack Stuart then go on to 2016 it somehow...

The NRL is an incredibly close competition and the margins are razor thin. We've been stale and stagnant for a while now, on multiple fronts.

If we do get it it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

The problem is we have the same issues as last year but magnified. Those other teams are just out of form.

Our forwards are big and slow our spine is one of the weakest and our captain is uninspiring no wonder we suck

Our forwards are not that slow.

I disagree with most of what you said... Our forwards are going pretty good, just our best are warming the bench for the majority of the game, our spine is OK in attack, just can't mange the game nor build pressure, and our captain is fine, I really think you all over estimate what that roll does on the field and who the **** else out there would you give it to ****?

Making a forward a captain is stupid as they are on the bench for at least a quarter of the game... So that leaves Wighton, Austin, Rapana, Cotric, BJ*, maybe Whitehead and Papa.... None of them stand out as an improvement that's worth changing the colour of the deck chairs on the titanic for...

I thought the forwards were good. It's the decision making of both edges that lets us down.

Must admit, after another frustrating loss I do find some amusement in a good old post game GH meltdown.

It’s the decision making of pretty much everyone that’s been at fault for the last year.

Parramatta just lost 54-0, with a team that finished in the Top 4 last year. Even we didn’t stoop that low last season.

We are probably a 12 - 14 side. Glad we got a favourable draw lol

After 2 rounds we have a top 5 of Dragons, Warriors, Panthers, Tigers, Knights. I'd say only Panthers are expected to be up around there. Long season ahead and a lot can (and will) change.

Whilst I haven’t been at all pleased with the results, I think there were some positive signs this week. We can definitely attack! Clearly not the problem if/when one of our halves takes control.

The defense, however... particularly our edges and cover defense. It’s almost like it got worse since last year, so I don’t quite understand how we’ve managed that considering we have the same personnel on field (missing Dean Pay already!).

We'll get the spoon and the circle will be complete for the Destroyer of Clubs.

All that will be left then will be to EDIT.

Who would have thought our defence would be better under Pay than Crawley? Seems the only year we haven't consistently had edge defensive issues was 2016.

I've seen most games so far this season, but admittedly I did miss the Manly v Parra on yesterday so don't know what went on there but the teams most likely to get it are us and Canterbury. The problem we now have is we've missed 4 of the 'easier' points to get in this tight NRL comp.

I think Parra will come good, they've got a decent squad and I rate Arthur as a leader to be able to turn it around.
We continue to **** about with blokes that are part of some fraternity. It's infuriating.

Parras middle just collapsed. They need their forwards to aim up.

Our problem is that we play clubs in to form! We've been doing it for years. If we can't work out a way to stop the second rowers from slicing through our brittle goal line defence, nothing will change. Williams and Austin are never going to make a one-on-one tackle, so work out how else to stop it.

Titans wont be winning the spoon....
On their day they can beat any of the big name clubs (like the broncos tonight).... we cant. Its safe to say whenever we play clubs like the storm, manly or broncos we will lose 100% of the time.
And now that we are the new Knights of the NRL with one of the worst spines in the game I have grave concerns that well will indeed be the 2018 wooden spooners.
