Also seriously...
“Bennett is A myth these days...”
“Bennett a costly mistake”
“Crappy old washed up version”... of himself?

He made the Top 4 LAST YEAR!

Seriously give yourselves an uppercut.
He made the top4 last year. He made the top4 the previous two before that. If Wayne Bennett failing is getting his halfback poached on a crazy deal and not being able to replace him for 2018 season, but still make the 8.. I’d take it. And so would you, you hypocrite
I'd take it if it comes with the broncos rubbery salary cap and other ridiculous advantages.

If he wasn't on the decline Brisbane wouldn't be punting him.

Kevin Walters would be a terrible option as coach. I'd consider him as a halves coach but his record in the UK is very poor as a head coach. I don't rate him at all. Also, I am concerned that by losing boyd and fatso it could damage our attack in the red zone. My logic being that when you have big boys, the defence will naturally compact in the middle, thus creating space for our edges... Anyone else think this will be a problem?

I'm not sure if I have mentioned this before, but I'd love to see us bring Jackson Hastings in.

Kevin Walters as an NRL coach....hell no. Last years Walters v Daley SOO coaching battle was 2nd only to Vautin v Raudonikis in '97 for bad coaching battles in an Origin series.

I know that’s because you want to see the Raiders totally collapse, but even you must see how poorly he is playing and the negative influence he has on team culture.

You’d take Woods for sure at a good price. He’s better than average front rower.
But if the figures are correct and he’s on $800k for 4 years, then you’d want them paying some freight...

If the Dogs picked up 250-300k a year for 3 years he would be a good pick up.

Apparently Su’a ( spelling ) from Broncs has been told he is free to talk to other clubs.
I’d definitely throw in a sneaky bid for him

Can someone explain that apart from "hey he's old" and "but the media said he's a grumpy old man"......?

Also I'd suggest there is roughly less than a 0 percent chance of the NRL reducing interchanges next year.
The conversation will be around how the Code manages the 'wasted time' first...
How about that the Bronx are willing to punt him before his contract is up.
Because the Broncos are a club who value winning and success above sentimentality. Hence why they've actually won premierships this century.
Only winning two this century is a massive fail on their behalf. They are a big step above any other team as far as advantages gifted to them and they’ve only won two? And not one in 12 years, and hopefully not one this decade....people say they have second teams and I’ve tried, but I far more enjoy watching the Broncos lose as my second following of the game, after that it’s Josh Dugan losing, god this origin announcement is gonna be sweet.

He looks to have a bright future but he wants to play 80 mins in the backrow he won't be doing it here.

I don't think Woods is all he is cracked up to be. The fact Wests are looking at him returning says a lot in his favour but I don't think there is value for money there. I wouldn't be jumping for joy if he was signed up and would rather see us try to unearth the next Fonua Blake or Regan Campbell Gillard than buy an established player that may not get back to best form.

I’ve never been a fan of Woods but a lot of that was related to his hype. If we got him cost price due to the Dogs paying half his salary then you’d be silly not to. He’s still running 124m a game, which is eighth in the league among forwards. You wouldn’t build your team around him but he’d be handy in the rotation.

I'd take Su'a over John Bateman as a second rower everyday of the week. Even with the price premium.

Id be willing to give Woods the Boyd contract. 550k, if the Dogs are chipping in the rest. Otherwise, no thanks.

Anyone suggesting we purchase Aaron Woods is doing nothing but proving they're a fool.

No way on Ricky's green earth should we consider giving that man any money.

He isn't that bad. Not Origin quality which is what pisses people off but for 500k he would give a decent return.

That would be a great deal.
If we are to believe Boyd got $650k, and Paulo $700k ... overs for both of them...
Woods is better than both IMO. I know he ain’t popular at the moment, but he is a pretty good Prop with a big motor.

I’d take Woods in heart beat for $500/550k, he on serious overs at $800k but he’s still one of the top 10 club props in the game.

Agreed with Terepo on a previous page and Sue falls into the same category.

Great players relative to the price, something which is even more sensitive when you’re the Canberra Raiders and may have to pay overs elsewhere.

The addition of one or both would improve our pack immediately without damaging the budget...

Dogs paying $300k circa on Woods contract. For $500k he's a reasonable replacement for Boyd and Paulo.

I just question Woods' motivation.

Let's face it, we need a few good props. And Sia is not an ideal candidate.
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Yea I’ve been a massive woods critic but that’s because he is hugely overrated, he’s not a top level rep prop but he’s a good club prop, better than Boyd imo, if you could get him for what we were offering Boyd (550k?) you’d be doing very well imo
