Canberra Raiders

Joseph Tapine has recovered from a broken thumb in time for New Zealand's tour of the UK, while Ata Hingano was named in Tonga's Test squad to play Australia after undergoing ankle surgery in June.

Jarrod Croker is recovering from knee surgery and will have no contact at training until January. Aidan Sezer (hamstring) will be fit for day one of Canberra's pre-season in November.

Man I hope Croker pulls up OK. Those sort of injuries terrify me.

I can see it being a reoccurring injury. I first dislocated my knee cap in 2005 and have done it numerous times since. Pops out easier and easier each time.

Canberra Raiders Ata Hingano to miss six months due to shoulder surgery

Canberra Raiders and Tongan half Ata Hingano will be sidelined for six months, after suffering a shoulder injury in the Test match between Tonga and Australia. He will undergo surgery this week, and will not be available until Round 6-8 of the 2019 season.

Canberra Raiders half Ata Hingano out for six months

Aidan Sezer and Sam Williams are set to begin the season in the hot seat as Canberra Raiders half Ata Hingano prepares for a six-month stint on the sidelines.

The playmaker suffered a dislocated shoulder early in Tonga's historic Test match against the Australian Kangaroos last week with the injury eventually forcing him off the field.

Hingano will likely be unavailable for at least the first six rounds of the 2019 season after scans revealed surgery is the only option if the 21-year-old is to make a full recovery.

Damn... With Ravalawa gone, we only have Oldfield as outside back depth now....

So I don't think we can sign a replacement since it's only 6 weeks. Kind of ridiculous when he misses a whole off season.

Hingano will be moved on without much of a run here then. I cant see him playing much next yr, and cant see us re-newing his contract.

Tough break for Hingano. Hopefully we look after him during his recovery.

6 weeks of NRL. They have to miss 12 games to be eligible for cap compensation.
