Canberra Raiders fan survey

Post by greeneyed »

Canberra Raiders fan survey: How did you rate the Green Machine's NRL season?

It was supposed to be a season of lime green dreams, but ended as a Canberra Raiders nightmare. Where did the Raiders go wrong this year and how did they fall so far after having their best season since 1995 last year?
Take The Canberra Times annual survey to have your say.

I rate the Raiders season as 10/16..

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Is there a postal address for this survey?
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

This was actually extremely therapeutic to complete. Recommend.

2/10 for me also. Top 4 on paper at worst, hardly affected by injury, didn't learn from mistakes all year long, finish 10th.

2/10 for me. Possibly a little harsh given the performance of a couple of players, but after finishing last season in 2nd it's hard to deny this was a pretty horrible season.

9/10 would complete that survey again

Question 10) Worse loss of the season.

Sums it all up that I went to choose Bulldogs game and that wasn't even considered in the top 8 by the Canberra Times.

It was a 3/10 from me. We didn't make the 8 with our squad. It was a failure of a season. We still showed we can attack and are easily a Top 8 attacking side in terms of tries scored which is my preferred measure. Without the ball though - we are poor (sometimes pathetic) to average. Even when we made the finals last year it was still the area we needed the greatest improvement in and we went backwards. Sticky saying in one of his last press conferences that there is nothing wrong with our defensive structure :nooo - have another look Sticky. If there was nothing wrong with it we would be competitive with the Top 8 sides in the competition. We aren't and once again it is the area for most work to be done in the off season. I know Dean Pay is a mate of Sticky's but he has had a number of years to get it right and we are again not a competitive defensive side. Change must be made defensively or we will again be watching, not participating, in next years finals.

I went 3/10 too.
We were clearly the best of the losers. Soooo many close loses are testiment to that.
We can attack, but our D is questionable - why do we pay Pay?
Our game management was awful.
Ricky was too soft on the players for too long.

3/10.

Defensive structures/attitude and game management need to be improved. Obviously too many close games lost this year and with a 10-15% improvement in those areas we could push for top 4 next year. Whether we have the coaching staff to improve in those areas is another question.

Canberra Raiders fan survey: Green Machine faithful say its NRL finals or bust in 2018

Most Canberra Raiders fans entered the year dreaming of a drought-breaking premiership but a horror night in Bathurst has been giving them nightmares for months.

But the Green Machine faithful believe things will turn around and some are even expecting the Viking Clap to shake ANZ Stadium to its core on grand final day next year.

Isn't anything less than an 8 a fail for those? Every time I get a survey for a car service they push me to give an 8

Uber ratings: 5 stars means the driver didn't kill anyone

If you don't make the top eight... it is surely a failing grade. Tenth place is a rating of 3.75/10. Which is a 4 at most.

You couldn't possibly give this season more than 4. If you've given this season a rating higher than that, please PM your credit card details so an exciting investment opportunity

With NPS 0 - 6 are detractors, 7 and 8 are neutrals and 9 - 10 are promoters. When calculating NPS, detractors are -1, neutrals 0 and promoters +1.

So if you're car service wants to improve their NPS, they should be asking what they can do to get a 9
