Id love see us scrape into the 8, would we play storm twice in a row ?
I'm just as disappointed as much as anyone with this season, and questions need to be asked to the coaching staff, how did it get to this ?

No we wouldn't play the Storm twice in a row. 1 doesn't play 8 anymore in Week 1.

I'd say that we we'll either make it or we won't.
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

You can thank 20 odd rounds of poor game sense, the inability to hold the ball and apply any type of pressure for our current position.

Simple game rugby league.

The opposition can't score points without the ball.

But hey..the door is still ajar.

It's infuriating that if we had won just TWO more games earlier in the year we could be pushing for top four still.

If we go on a run and win out, i would put us at third favourites behind the storm and donkeys on current form.

Bingo. Add that bloody Bathurst fiasco to the list and we'd be exactly where this team ought to be.

It's bloody infuriating.

At the end of the day we'll miss the 8 because we played some horrendously dumb football at the worst possible moments. Nobody can convince me this squad wasn't good enough to push for the top 4 and a premiership. We can match any team in this comp if our minds are on the job.

We're good enough to still be competitive in games where we have 40% of the ball...and bad enough to play the sort of dumb football that only gives you 40% of the ball. Frustrating as hell to watch.

The playing group were too arrogant leading into the season and the coaching staff weren't good enough to fix that attitude before it was too late.

Such a **** waste of a season.

Yes, well, an opportunity wasted. And premiership windows are pretty short if you're not the broncos-rooters-storm

Agree about the loss to the Panthers in Bathurst S82. Given we are vying with the Panthers for a Top 8 spot now, that loss has extra meaning. We simply didn't play out the full 80 minutes and they did. But with only a few minutes to go and the Raiders with an 8 point lead we should have been able to close it out. The 'sense of entitlement' attitude, seen from the pre-season, came to the fore and the game and possibly a finals spot was handed to the Panthers.

The season isn't over for us yet but it has been a disappointment. I think it was Pigman who made a good point some weeks ago when he said (I'll paraphrase) 'in other seasons when we have had limited talent in the squad, not making the finals has not been so hard to take because the quality of the squad wasn't there. But this season we have the squad to be a real threat to the Premiership and have squandered it.'

Imo our ladder position doesn't reflect the quality of the Raiders squad, but it does reflect the performance and attitude of some within the squad.

100%.

Our two best and most consistent players have been our wingers this year. Almost every player barring those two and Papalii have regressed this season.

I've never seen anything like it.

While thats true, the loss to Penny was the worst, and hurts even more now that they are in our way.

Anthony Don just gave an absolute genuine post match interview saying exactly what needs to be said and acknowledged from the club to the fans.

It's a pitty our coaching staff and majority of players have been so unprofessional in this regards through-out this year.

The second half against the dogs was the start of the rot and the Panthers game was the one where it looked like they had worked their way out of it .Knights just have a style we struggle with and they played well to beat us. They will probably do it again in a couple of weeks.

One thing that also counted against us was the easy draw that Penrith and the Dragons have got. It looks like it ended up the easiest draw that's statistically possible to get.
