Soliola suspended five weeks, Rapana out for one week

Post by bonehead »

How many weeks? I'm saying 4 and he gets a swansong.
1 year too many, he's looked a step off the pace all season sadly

At least 2, at most 3. If any. Who knows with these things I don't get how the charges work anymore

I said it about 10 weeks ago and I'll say it again.... Soliola is a HUGE liability.... dumb penalties, poor reads in defense, he sadly offers nothing these days....

Our forwards stink, and sadly he is part of the problem.

One too many years.

Yeah this is a good point. How many weeks did that Burgess brother get earlier in the season for a similar shot? 4-6 weeks at least.

6 weeks. Maybe 8 if the blow up is enough. He did slip which turned it from a stupid hit to a very ugly one.

3 at most. Slater fell. My major problem was it was late. No need to make the tackle at all.

If it was Slater hitting Sia maybe it would be 3.

Gut feel is someone who hits like him, he'll have prior offences and carry over points
The charge itself I agree will be a 4 week deal and what he gets on top might take him to 5 or 6

depends on his record but its somewhere between a grade 2 reckless high tackle and a grade 3. Slater is a high profile player and he **** belted him so lets say a grade 3

so 500 points with 25 percent off for the early guilty plea so thats 375

3 weeks and 75 carry over points

Of course Sia should play on but as an edge player only. He isnt a middle player.

Unless they refer it straight to the judiciary there is a guideline to what he will be given. Was it really worse than a grade 3 reckless ? well i suppose it depends on how much the media carries on about it but Slater was falling, he didn't have a closed fist and it certainly didnt seem malicious imo.

obviously if there is a meltdown in the press or if slater is seriously injured it might get referred straight to the judiciary

again it all depends on sias record but for a cleanskin its to me a grade 3 at worse which is ~4 weeks with an early plea

Yeah it's strange
He was transitioning to being a pure middle forward last year but the only time he's looked remotely decent this year has been on the edges

Re: Soliola

I think he doesn't have the motor for the middle. He gets a breather on the edge.

Slater was so obviously falling, contributing to the fact that it was a high shot. It was only serious, because Slater fell as Sia made his decision to hit him and had already lined him up.

I've never ever seen someone sent off for that, nor should they be. I'm baffled.

Why is Tony Archer releasing statements on the day of the game? Everyone knows you sleep on things like this, before releasing official statements.

There is an obvious answer to that and the decisions by his referees tonight but stating that on a forum such as this could be construed as defamatory.

Can anyone ever remember a similar statement by a referees boss so quickly after a game?

Wasn't like it was the worst head high in history and probably on par with a number of high hits this season alone.
