2017 NRL Telstra Premiership Season Launch
Jarrod Croker at the NRL season launch: https://twitter.com/NRL/status/834587365775597568
The 2017 NRL Telstra Premiership Season – as well as a new marketing campaign which highlights how fan power can help to create history - was launched today.
The Club Captains joined hundreds of supporters at Martin Place for the Season Launch – and the official launch of the 2017 marketing campaign.
Mr Greenberg said recent history had proved how important the fans and members were to their teams' fortunes.
"Our fans and members make a difference every week," Mr Greenberg said at the launch.
"They all ride the highs and lows of every team... they celebrate every win and feel every defeat.
"The mantra for us this year is Let's Make History. It is fitting as it suggests a collective effort. Our fans, our players, our Clubs, are in the fight together.
"Our fans and members can and will make a difference to those incredible things that our superstars do on the field."
This year's campaign is designed to evolve from the 2016 'History Happens', to a mantra of 'Let's Make History' in 2017, evoking a more collective feel.
Each vignette sees the fans play a role in motivating the players, while the campaign features a younger generation of players including Anthony Milford, Matt Moylan, Valentine Holmes, Aaron Woods and Adam Reynolds.
Agency Archibald/Williams shot live action of the players, mixed with some existing footage.

Re: Jarrod Croker at the NRL season launch
The best part was when they introduced JT, they played the Toots video. Then tried to re-do it, and it happened again.
A few raiders supporters made it to Martin Place, even one in an Iron Fist jersey already. Victor was very happy to see anyone in green!
Speed limits are just suggestions....Like pants!

How was his knee looking?
Re: Jarrod Croker at the NRL season launch
Is it just me, or do teams like the Broncos and Wests Tigers always get double the time the Raiders do in these commercials?
Re: Jarrod Croker at the NRL season launch
I know this sounds petty but I was wondering why Jarrod was positioned on the edge of the group photo and not in a more central spot like the Knightsgreeneyed wrote:Is it just me, or do teams like the Broncos and Wests Tigers always get double the time the Raiders do in these commercials?

We are in the add plenty. Ive noticed over the entire offseason, that whenever a player from another team is written about in an article, the photo is of them playing us

It's such a shame to see a club like Brisbane positioned so far outside
It's not fair
Wait, what?
For those playing at home:
Current premiers, bulldogs, Souths, Cowboys
Broncos, storm, tigers and us.

Re: Jarrod Croker at the NRL season launch
Is that Rory Kostjasyn? They sent the guy down that can't talk?
Re: Jarrod Croker at the NRL season launch
The order on the stage was determined by the order of the games, the captains came out in pairs and were then positioned on either side of the stage. So I'll say that one's not deliberate snubbing.
But the Broncos being on the outside reflects the bias towards them... as they were given the season opener against the premier team.

Re: Jarrod Croker at the NRL season launch
Hahah of course! I should have known! It's always bias! Haha
Re: Jarrod Croker at the NRL season launch
I'm more interested in what our captain is holding on the first weekend of October than where he is standing at the season launch.

Re: Jarrod Croker at the NRL season launch
But I did notice one of the ads featured Turbo Tom breaking our line, then I waited for Jack's great cover tackle to put him over the sideline...but it just cut to the next scene. It just looks like Manly were awesome and we weren't.
There needs to be an investigation.

Thought Jarrod would be smart enough to stay at least 4 men wide of Cam "grubby gentleman, ornament to the game" Smith in case he came in for his knee from behind again.

Wonder how BJ's flick pass didn't make the NRL ad. Thought it was a lay down misere.

Hey we should be happy we featured. We had a year when we didn't feature at all in the advert or get a single game on free to air.greeneyed wrote:Is it just me, or do teams like the Broncos and Wests Tigers always get double the time the Raiders do in these commercials?

Canberra Raiders Jarrod Croker aiming for Round 5 return
Raiders skipper Jarrod Croker says he's likely to miss the first month of the NRL Telstra Premiership season after dislocating his knee cap during the Harvey Norman All Stars match in Newcastle.
"It's great to have a lot of people concerned about your wellbeing," he said. "I got a lot of messages of support on social media and I tried to thank everyone I could for that. I was obviously very disappointed with the injury, but I was grateful for the fan support because we wouldn't be here without them and it means a lot to us players to know how much they care."

Looks like they've tried to copy NBC's NFL opener.
