Reading The Kennel they seem to think Pay will bring the Raiders attack to the Dogs... and credit him with the Raiders attack...

If Pay goes, I reckon it's odds on that Brett White gets promoted to assistant coach and we get a new U20's coach.

I don't post facts
Re: Dean Pay firming as new Bulldogs coach
Honestly, I don't think this would be that much of a loss. We were playing really strong defence late this year but for the most part it's been this area that's held us back
I trust Stuart will be able to keep on keepin on in defence without Pay. Defence is Stuart's bread and butter as a coach

I'm sure ricky will find an able replacement if he chooses to leave. I don't think brett white would be the answer though.

I think it was earlier this year that Cat suggested Des was on the outter and would likely lose his position - I believe I told a Cat she was mad but that if she was right I'll put my hand up and apologise if wrong.
My hand is raising higher each day. Sorry, Cat

Re: Dean Pay firming as new Bulldogs coach
I thought neither of our assistants harboured any ambitions to be a head coach?
Anyways, it could be a blessing in disguise, like when Matt Parish left. So long as we don't lose Turno, we're still on course for a premiership.

Canberra Raiders assistant coach Dean Pay tipped to replace Des Hasler as Canterbury Bulldogs coach
Current NSW under-20s and Canberra Raiders assistant coach Dean Pay is firmly in the sights of a Bulldogs board preparing to make an extraordinary call on the coaching tenure of Des Hasler at a 4pm meeting on Friday.
Pay, undefeated as coach of the next-generation Blues since 2011, heads a list of potential replacements should Hasler and the club part ways.

Canberra Raiders 'not surprised' Dean Pay mentioned in Canterbury Bulldogs coaching talk
The Canberra Raiders say they have not been approached by the Canterbury Bulldogs to release Dean Pay from his two-year contract extension as a showdown looms at Belmore on Friday.
"I only know that Dean is with us until 2018 and he hasn't said anything to us," CEO Don Furner said. "When coaching speculation comes up, good candidates always get mentioned so we're not surprised that he's getting mentioned around all of this. But as far as I know, he's with us. Dean has been an assistant coach for a long time, not just in Canberra so he's got experience.

Re: Dean Pay firming as new Bulldogs coach
Wouldn't have been too devastated.
While our defense has improved significantly this year, it's hardly the consistent bedrock on which our season was built.
It's also questionable whether this year is a case of "Pay's coaching finally coming somewhat good", or an improvement in our playing personnel.
Williams to Sezer, Kennedy to Whitehead, Shillo to Paulo/Tapine just to name a few.
Not to say Pay is rubbish or anything but I would be far more concerned if Crawley came out and said he was now keen on exploring head coach positions.

The only reason he is still there is because he would have to be paid a bucket of money to go so instead they are making his life difficult in the hope he quits
Trust me no one would want him near their club !

Aside from the Bulldogs being somewhat pathetic this year (despite making the finals), why wouldn't anyone want Des? Do you have more info on him?cat wrote:Thanks profProfessor wrote:I think it was earlier this year that Cat suggested Des was on the outter and would likely lose his position - I believe I told a Cat she was mad but that if she was right I'll put my hand up and apologise if wrong.

Re: Dean Pay firming as new Bulldogs coach
I think there would be quite a few clubs interested in his services if he became available. Hands down best coach in the game IMO. I'm guessing he wouldn't have liked how this all went down and wouldn't be surprised if he takes up an offer from elsewhere by midway through the season. Manly, Saints and Tigers all options. Unfortunately 2 of the 3 are probably too broke to lure him away.
