Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Brenko has been ok. He is our depth back, and playing wing when he is really a centre. Playing out of position plays a decent part in his overall performance. Next yr, assuming he is still around (he may not be with all the speculations), he will remain our 1st choice reserve centre, but become our 2nd choice winger. I think Ottio will be ready in 2017 to cover the wing at NRL level.

It was a fair shocker. They didn't even get it right that we played the Rabbitohs in Cairns when Sia had to drive home.

I tore my ham string at the bone- and it was a good 5 weeks until i healed. Maybe Eddie has a similar hammy injury? Even things like sitting can delay the healing (which sucked for me because I sit on my ass all day at work and drove my car quite a lot)

why would you go through Goulburn travelling from Dubbo to Canberra? unless you were trying to see the Picker family farm at Bigga? you'd be better off going to the Forbes Town Hall to visit Josh Miller's Mum and then through Cowra to Big Shagg's old stomping ground.greeneyed wrote:Sia's road trip guide: Cairns to Canberra: http://www.raiders.com.au/news/2016/07/ ... _guid.html

Sia didn't go through Goulburn as I recall...

North Queensland Cowboys culture key to upsetting Raiders in Canberra
COWBOYS half Ray Thomspon expects the club’s rock-solid team culture to shine through and help guide their undermanned line-up to a major upset over the Raiders.
“Greeny (Cowboys coach Paul Green) has full faith in the team that he’ll put out on the field and the culture in this club is so strong that anyone who puts on that jersey is going to do a job,” he said.
“We have full faith in the bloke next to us and we are absolutely going down there to get the two points.

Canberra Raiders fullback Jack Wighton was trying too hard earlier in the NRL season
Canberra Raiders fullback Jack Wighton says he was trying too hard earlier in the season, but he hopes his form "keeps going up" after a brilliant game last weekend.
"Things have been going OK in the last couple of games so I'm just trying to keep that on a roll and see how it goes," he said.
"I knew myself, I was just in a patch. I was trying hard and the harder I tried the more things went worse. The stuff I've been doing since I was young I just couldn't do at the start of the year, just out of over-trying. Hopefully, it all keeps going on the up from now."

Canberra Raiders Brenko Lee looks to complete passage to manhood and catch his first turtle
He had his traditional first shave when he was 16 years old, but Canberra Raiders winger Brenko Lee still needs to catch his first turtle.
"When you have your first shave when you're 16 you're supposed to catch your first turtle, but hopefully come Christmas time I can have a go at that," Lee said.
"I think it's very special when you can catch your first turtle as a Torres Strait Islander; it's a sign of manhood. I had a big beard when I first came down here, but I got rid of it when I had my 16th shave back in Brissie."

Where are the Canberra Raiders bandwagon fans?
It's a shame Blake Austin doesn't have the keys to the Canberra double-decker bandwagon bus because the Raiders playmaker could have probably filled it when he stopped to pick up fans on his drive to the clash against Newcastle last weekend.
The reality is the bandwagon bus will arrive at some point. The sad truth is that the Raiders are scratching their heads wondering when that point will be.
The Raiders sit on the cusp of the NRL's top four and last weekend turned half-time heartache into one of the most unbelievable golden-point finishes the NRL has seen.

It's not that long ago the home record was atrocious.
It'll take a bit more concrete success to get bandwagoners out in winter.

Sure, that's what you'll do if you're a supporter.
If you're a bandwagoners with only passing interest, you're not going to bother if you're expecting a decent chance the Raiders will lose.

THIS. Especially when we pretty much always play on sunday or Saturday afternoons. I generally wear one jumper and I'm fine. Raiders fans have come to expect inconsistency. Why go and watch your team when there's a good chance they'll play like a bunch of drunks from the pub. Once they've play consistently well the crowds will come back
