Vaughan for Priest please. Let's see if the week off has freshened/fired him up.

Vaughan in for priest and probably fensom in for Bateman. No offence to Bateman but we need Fensom just to tackle and clean up everything in the ruck.

We beat the Broncos by giving Milford NOTHING and beating them in the forwards. They are vulnerable there against bigger packs. The sharks smashed them up front.

Tough game. Broncos are one of the bench marks. Gotta play for the full 80.

Bateman gives a bit more zip than Fensom around the ruck, same same in defence

That said I reckon he'll come back in for Bateman, purely on experience

maybe he has certainly got more sting in his tackles. Lock is a tough one. I feel the broncos are the game to really play a workhorse at lock at least for the first bit of the game.

The sharks showed the blueprint on how to beat the Broncos. Obviously we cant give them an inch because Milford will cause problems with our bigger blokes. Maybe Paulo or Boyd should just belt him with a late shot in the first set of six. I dont care if we give a penalty away as long as its not high.

After tonight's game I realised how much we miss Fensom.

Fensom in for Bateman and Vaughan in for Priest.

X 2

I can also see Lima coming in as 18th man or even in for Boyd just to keep the forwards fresh and hungry

Someone please explain to me how Bateman's performance showed we missed Fensom around the ruck? It was 6-6 when he went off.
Guy only gets to play for 30mins because of a head knock and still makes 72m and 20 tackles.

Feno will likely get used against the broncos anyway because of the rest and the experience but it has nothing to do with Bateman not playing well.

1. Rapana
2. Brenko
3. Croker
4. Leilua
5. Ottio
6. Austin
7. Sezer

9. Hodgson
10. Paulo
11. Papalii
12. Whitehead
13. Fensom

14. Baptiste
15. Bateman
16. Soliola
17. Tapine

Edit: Added in Brenko for Eddy (injured) and Bateman for Boyd (suspended). Moved Rapana to fullback for Wighton (suspended) and brought Ottio on to the wing.

Yes we did, I haven't seen us open up through the ruck for a while.

It happened a number of times last night.

Fensom and Vaughan in.

I think with Vaughn people are putting 2 and 2 together and getting 7. Resting a niggle will be back for the donkeys game.

Bateman was good but played a very similar role to what fensom does including a few penalties. Has faster leg speed but I don't see a massive gulf between them.

We will need to play for the full 80 to go close to beating the Broncos. Will be good to see where we are up to as a team and what we have learned from the last few weeks.

Didnt we only open up in the last 10-15 though? When Fenno would have been on the pine anyway?

I think we loosened up and lost composure when both Hodgo and Sia were off in the back end . I made the comment to someone at the game that we lost our discipline at the same time two leaders went off. Bateman had great energy, I would love to see him stay, but expect Fenno to be named.

We brought them back into the game because we tried to beat them by 70 when we were 30-6 up instead of just working to 36-6. We got carried away and blew a fair few attacking opportunities through lack of patience.

Gee If we can somehow jag a win here before the bye we could have a huge winning streak, 3 in a row could easily Turn in to 8/9 if we can beat a Broncos team missing Mccullough and on a short turnaround after playing in NZ, after the Broncos we play Titans (a) Knights(h), cowboys at home without there Origin players Then the warriors(h) and Rabbitohs(A)

I think Sticky will pick his strongest combination for the Bronco's. Edrick in if recovered. Vaughan in for Priest and depending on the injury results for Bateman he would retain his spot for mine. The Raiders have a bye following the Bronco's match so I don't think players will be 'rested' for this match. The Bronco's match is on 9 June and we don't play again until the Titans away on 26 June. That is a fair spell at this point in the competition. We are on 15 points at the half way mark in the competition. We really haven't played that consistently well but are in the 8 and nibbling at the top 4.

Jack, Edrick, JC, BJ, Rapa, Austin, Sezer, Boyd, Hodgo, Paulo, Papa, EW, Bateman - Baptiste, Vaughan, Sia, Tapine.

It's been such a loooooooooooooooooooooooong time since we've had a side so strong.

Compare it to Sticky's first round side against the Titans in 2014

Milford, Robinson, JC, Allwood, Edrick, Jack, Campo, Tilse, Buttsy, White, Papa, Edwards, Fensom - McCrone, Kennedy, Vaughan, Boyd, Nicholls. Only 7 of the 18 players remain as FGers for the Raiders 2.5 years later.

I don't think there is smoke it was just an offhanded remark from Gallen.

If other media are picking up on the comment and running with it they are clutching at straw.
