How is anything I've posted different to the despair that is the game day thread? Or don't any of you remember what you actually type? Giving up the game whilst the Raiders are still ahead. Try betting on the games and you will learn to not panic. FWIW The Raiders had the better of Golden Point and should have got away with it even if they didn't deserve it with 20mins to go in regular time.

Canberrigan, we've been through this over and over again with your various usernames. It's stunningly tedious.
Why don't you save everyone the hassle, and just give it a break for tonight? Please?

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.
Re: 2016 Rd 3 V Knights: Game Day
It's fine to be disappointed. What people get tired of is only EVER hearing negatives and hearing the same agenda pushed over and over. We understand you wan't Wighton to 5/8. You made that abundantly clear. However others aren't convinced. You won't change their mind, they won't change yours.Canberrigan wrote:How is anything I've posted different to the despair that is the game day thread? HAHAHA Holy ****, watching the presser now. Stuart **** gives it to him!
Re: 2016 Rd 3 V Knights: Game Day
Our line speed and ruck control was terrible. They were going 90 metres with ball in hand on some sets. It just gave them so much opportunity, and got their tail up.
They should be kicking from halfway, not putting grub era in at the end of their sets that start from within their own 20.

As I have pointed out to the mods my IP address is there for them to check. Making baseless claims of alts/trolling is weak. It says more about how you respond to those you disagree with. I haven't breached one forum rule. Having a different opinion is hardly a hanging offence.

Whilst you havent broken any rules, to me you seem like the dude on the bus who has a booger in his nose and makes an albiet quiet and subtle very very annoying whislte sound every time you take a breath in. Differing opinions are good, but flogging the same old dead horse gets very tiresome. Go have a lie down buddy, its 2030 and way past your bedtime.Canberrigan wrote:T_R wrote:Canberrigan, we've been through this over and over again with your various usernames. It's stunningly tedious.

Playing Elliot Whitehead in the halves three games into his NRL career is a better option than Wighton? He laid on two tries, if Wighton was going to come in for a half, hindsight tells us it should have been Williams who was Newcastle's best

The Canberra Raiders and Newcastle Knights played out a nerve-wracking 24-24 draw at Hunter Stadium. The Canberra Raiders impressed in the first half before the Knights fought their way back into contention after the break.
The golden point period was frenetic as both sides attempted to kick field goals. Sam Williams couldn’t repeat his heroics from last week, missing three attempts. The Knights couldn’t score from their attempts either with two of their three kicks charged down.
Croker also tried to score from a penalty 52 meters away from goal but his effort couldn’t make the distance and the game ended in a stalemate.
Raiders 24( Papalii, Soliola, Rapana, B. Lee Con Croker 3/4 Pen 1/2) drew Knights 24 (Denniss 2, Mataroa, P. Mata’utia Con Hodkinson 4/4)

All the pressure is on Williams. I'm not surprised he had a below level game and how many of you jumped all over him as a result?

Re: 2016 Rd 3 V Knights: Game Day
I only saw the highlights of the fiest half but whiteheas laid on two tries so him at 5/8 wasnt the problem... we just were to complacant letting them back in and then as others have pointed out our line speed was attrocious from our middle men.
Re: 2016 Rd 3 V Knights: Game Day
It does seem like the wind was a big factor. Hard to tell on TV though. Last year's win at Leichhardt was a game where the wind was the telling factor too.
We continue to **** about with blokes that are part of some fraternity. It's infuriating.

Thats twice now his efforts at the back end of the game has saved us. He is gold with the new limited interchange. Sticky knows this. Players know this. Anybody who has ever laced on a boot knows this. Yet we still want to complain that he gave away a penalty. Because of that i can find no place in our top 17 for him.Aero wrote:

Also wighton jumped in to 5/8 on one of our first attacking sets and booted the **** out of a grubber goving them all the momentum and a second tackle set.
Honestly wighton cant kick for **** is a **** play maker and not a particularly good passer.
The call for him at 5/8 is laughable

Exactly. 16 points wasn't enough whether Whitehead laid two tries on or not. I will watch the replay again before I comment definitively though.

Today our forwards were dominated. Our defence was flat and the Knights made metres at will.
We walked away with 1 point. Its pleasing as we played poorly but we fought all the way.
We never gave up.

I think he is hot and cold at the back though. Still not sold on him being a natural fullback and those two dropped bombs at the death add weight to that.. Rapana seems to have more natural pace whereas Wighton uses his bulk to make ground.
