Pretty sure his % is down this yer from previous years and his legs don't seem to be generating the same strength as previous years. His kicks are limping over the cross bar at times. Just an observation.

You're on point on this one legend. I agree. Kicking at 76.27% this yr. 81.75% last yr.

Hard to tell how relevant that stat is without positioning. I'd wager a greater percentage of our tries have been on the wings this year. (Note here I mean literally scored out wide, not by wingers).

By eye test, I'd say you're right that Croker's kicking is slightly hampered by injury. But it is slightly and he's still doing a great job, particularly with a couple of critical ones.

I see why it was attractive to bring up in a game where tries were level and we lost by 6. But reality is we were 1/2 and they were 4/5 with goal kicking IIRC. It was opportunity, not poor kicking that was the difference.

In general I agree with your no ref faulting stance. But I think the standard is so poor it's hard not to comment.

I thought Mike1 mentioning Newcastle was the perfect example this year. I remember watching their first win this year (maybe against Titans?) and I was livid with how the calls were going against them again and again as they weren't expected to win. I don't care a fig for Newcastle and it still made me angry.

In previous years that is exactly what the Raiders have faced. When it's a team you care about it's incredibly frustrating to see that your team regularly has to be much better to win games. In a low scoring, close competition, with other handicaps (hello salary cap), I honestly believe it makes it very hard for certain teams to make the top 4. I definitely think it's played a role in our prolonged lack of success.

The refereeing needs an overhaul with a new head ref who supports calling it as you see it and not trying to produce 8-8 penalty counts every game. One who will at least try and get teams onside, playing the ball on the mark, sin binning deliberate penalties, consistency in using the sin bin etc. etc.

This year the Raiders lost it themselves through stupidity though.

Agree that there's no point whipping the players now. Whip them in Jan/Feb. What I would like to see them do is summer school on football tactics. This season would have been different with some good decision making.

Ricky should be doing summer school too. Should get in some analysts/strategists to help him formulate some plans for next year.

Was just thinking the other day that this team needs to watch all finals games together. But with a twist, I think they need a sports psychologist on hand to go through these sessions with them, be it one-on-one or as a group. I have no doubt that there is a lot of remorse in the squad right now, and it is crucial to use that properly heading into the Christmas break. The mentality of the squad heading into the break has a massive impact on how they return to pre-season. Just look at BJ post 2015 - he approached it well, lost weight, had a break out year.
