Hi Guys,

There's plenty of threads about spines, who to drop, whether to recruit Rueben Wiki. We all have theories about who to drop, but not really what the whole team will look like after that.

I thought it would be interesting to have a crack at a round 1 2015 team, using some knowns (i.e. Milford is gone), and some rumours (i.e. Ennis is off contract, JT is probably back). My first attempt at a starting 13 would look something like:

First step to turning the club around is signing a hard veteran (preferably in a position of need) to help change the culture of the club, ala Ben Kennedy at Manly and Kevin Campion at North Queensland. From what is out there Michael Ennis is the only real option. We'll also need to take a flyer or three on young talent (e.g. the reported interest in Curtis Rona) and hope it pans out as we aren't a free agent destination at the moment (winning is all that can change that). A hard as nails/metre eating prop (easier said than done) and a star looking for a sea change would be added bonuses.

Oh, and if White, Shillington and Campese are all somehow moved on that would help in the rebuild. They are overpaid for what they provide and are surplus to requirements. Highly doubt Campo and Shillo would go as they are both under contract still in 2015.

If Wighton is our 5/8th next year, wouldn't it be wise to stick with him in that position for the rest of the year? Yet everybody has been calling for him back to the centres this year.

I don't think he'll just suddenly turn around after spending the balance of the year at centre into a superstar 5/8th round 1 2015.
